Whew. . .! Almost didn't get to you this month. Seems that January 5 crept around when I wasn't looking and with school reopening and my hockey team to worry about, I almost forgot about you for the first time since I took over the job of Class Secretary. But I didn't, so here it is.
Last fall I promised you news of Irv Graves' wedding, which was then pending. I now have the details and the man is no longer single. Irv married Miss Josephine Ann Macfarlane of Belmont, the nuptials taking place at the Martha-Mary Chapel in Sudbury, Mass., next door to the famous Wayside Inn. Reception was held at the Inn. Date was November 28, and now I know why Irv didn't show up as an interested party for the Class Officers meeting in Boston on Saturday, the 29th.
News from Buffalo records that Johnny Halstead has been appointed to the University of Buffalo office for planning and development staff. Johnny has an M.A. from Harvard and is completing requirements for a Ph.D. at that august institution. For the last several years he has served as director of development for Radcliffe College. Dick Lewin informs us that he has formed a law partnership, Thompson, Lewin, & Rafferty, with offices at 100 North LaSalle St., Chicago. Marine Corps Major Fred Campbell is on the move again. His new address is Hdq. Co., 1st Marine Brigade, FMF, Fleet Post Office, San Francisco. What are you up to now, Fred? After being somewhat lost for a time by this correspondent, Jim Field appears in Detroit environs, 240 Chesterfield, Bloomfield Hills, Mich., to be exact. What's new, Jim? And if you're looking for Bob Glass, he's still on the old stamping grounds. Address has changed to 5361 East 29th Street but the city is still Tulsa. Paul Samek is merchandise manager for Sears, Roebuck Company in Jacksonville, Fla. At this time of the year that sounds like a pretty good job, Paul.
Every year I send along a list of classmates who are engaged in Dartmouth Club activity of some sort or another as officers. Here for your edification and perhaps use is this year's: Bob Nelb is President of the Naugatuck Valley (Waterbury, Conn.) Dartmouth Club; while down at Fort Lauderdale, the Secretary of the Dartmouth Club of the Gold Coast, and isn't that a colorful name, is Bob Ross. Out in Michigan, it's Jack Holmes who is secretary of the Dartmouth Club of Detroit. John Leggat seems to be permanently ensconced as President of the Lowell Dartmouth Club. Does that job go to the best golfer in the club, John? Secretary of the Westchester County Dartmouth Club is the old "Jug," Warren C. Agry, 270 Locust St., Rye, N. Y.
And that, dear friends, is all there is for this month. Ye olde larder is barer than Old Mother Hubbard's cupboard so I'm expecting your notes momentarily. I'd like to know what you're doing and remember, with the circulation this MAGAZINE has, you'll have to go a long way to get free advertising coverage of this superior type.
