In the words of the great somebody-or-other, "Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their college." This may have been philosophically stated by Nichol M. Sandoe, more familiarly known as the "Hanover Hotfoot" for his jackrabbit peregrinations, or by Clifford L. Jordan, alias "Briar Pipe," for the heavy smog that hangs over his desk when said gentleman is at work. But I have a feeling that these words of infinite wisdom and demanding action come from the pages of the Bunny Bear Ballads, author, Eliot Mover, Class Agent, and nicknamed the "Prime Mover." They should be heeded and acted upon immediately. No Foolin, that sagacious Siamese soothsayer, once said, "He who procrastinates today, loses his chance to make hay" or "One Alumni Fund check in mail is worth two intended." Which brings to mind the wonderful advice of that old Moslemmonologist, Quite Nuff Said, who succinctly stated, "To say more than enough is to say too much." So be it.

News is news wherever you find it, and this bit I supplied by myself with, of course, the help of my wife Gertie. Born on March 20 was Andrew Knight Cutler, an 8-lb., 9-oz., addition to my projected hockey team (one more forward and I'll have a first line). His brother Michael is quite pleased and his parents are modestly proud themselves. Bill Portman is in this same class with a second son born last December 19 and named Robert Jones Portman. We're doing our bit for Dartmouth, how are the rest of you doing? Oh, here's DonFifield reporting in one, a second son, also, born last November 5. Welcome!

I knew this winter was a bad one but didn't think it would hold up the mails to this extent. Last November, Ed White and Barbara Morey were married in Medford, Mass. This column sometimes is a little behind in the news but never to this degree. Why, these people are old marrieds by now. My apologies. And Ed, please, your bachelor button and Mickey Mouse Club shirt. Forward them to Mo Frye. He's the collector of paraphernalia.

The news, in brief, is brief, and here it is. Fred Berthold, professor in the Department of Religion at Dartmouth, has recently delivered several talks to the University of New Hampshire Christian Association at their annual midwinter retreat. Dick Gilman, assistant professor of philosophy and religion at Colby College, served as chaplain for Colby's Religious Week program during February. Hank Blansfieldj now settled in Danbury, Conn., has been cutting quite a figure in Connecticut society. A medical trustee of the Danbury branch of the American Cancer Society, Hank is assistant attending surgeon at Danbury Hospital and a surgical consultant at New Milford Hospital. Also is a clinical instructor in surgery at Yale Medical School and is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery.

Among those lucky people who find time to revisit the Hanover scene, enjoy the hospitality of the Inn and soak up a little more Dartmouth spirit, we find, this month, ScottParrot, whose son of circa 9 years old played in the youngsters' hockey game on March 10; Don Kleckner; Mr. and Mrs. Roger Brown and son; Dick Southwick; Ed Viggers and Barney Oldfield, not once but twice. One of Barney's trips was to lecture at Thayer School.

If you are traveling through New Castle, Del., be sure to patronize the local Howard Johnson's restaurant. And if you're not satisfied with the food or service, complain to the management, Harry Bissell, owner. I'm sure Harry will give you satisfaction. When he finds you're a '45, he'll probably throw you out.

In case you're wondering where they are, Emil Bernier is with Continental Can Co., in customer research, and living in Newton Highlands, Mass.; Ralph Blackburn is circulation manager for McGraw-Hill Publishing Co., and living in New York; Jim Brown is a partner in the securities firm of Brown, Bennett & Johnson and resides in the suburban haven of Hartsdale, N.Y.; DanCarpenter is at Williston Academy, Easthampton, Mass. (I would like to hear more about you, Dan. How about a note?); NormanDonovan, assistant to Plant Superintendent of the Kordite Corp., and residing in Canandaigua in the beautiful Finger Lake region of Upper New York. Buell Kingsley is a Fellow in child psychiatry at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic; John Mac Donald, methods engineer for the Kendall Mills in Walpole, Mass.; Art O'Donald serves as controller for Timex of Canada, Limited, and lives in Toronto. Alex Ungar is Vice Pres. of Alexander Ungar Inc. of New Brunswick, N.J.; Wayne Morgan is president of the Power Motor Fuel Sales Co., Chicago, and lives at 210 North Vine in Hinsdale; John Phelps, Vice Pres., El Automovil Universal, Caracas, Venezuela (in case any of you are in the vicinity); and Tom Harkness now resides on Beaver Valley Road, Chadds Ford, Pa.

C'est tout for the month of May. Get out that old contribution and "Mover" along to Hanover.
