Bucky Lewers was one of those who ran in their shorts on the warped outdoor board track when the "temp" would hover in the twenties. Bucky said one way to keep warm was to slow down when approaching coach Mahan, bundled in a fur coat, who would fire a blank shot at his heels and yell "faster-faster." Always made Bucky's blood boil and then he would be good for a couple more laps.

Harold Comstock thanks "notes" for prompting a letter from Matteson from whom he had not heard since 1947. Harold for 43 years was with the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation; s5 years in charge of Riverton, Wyo., project and the last five years of service a regional director. Since retirement he has been a consulting engineer. He is showing improvement since his July operation.

Dana Whipple thinks we should stress memories rather than news for the notes Says we oldtimers seldom create news but we do like to rehash the good old days. He then recalls a number of events which took place while he was headwaiter at the Commons and which could be enlarged upon; the baked potato battle sparked by Bob Davis; the waiter who doused Hen Teague with a tray of tomato soup; Queech Safford's attempted evasion of edict that students wear shirt, collar and tie at evening meals, etc.

Has anyone got a class Aegis which he would loan the "sec" on a semi-permanent basis? All his memorabilia were destroyed by an overzealous housekeeper some 35 or more years ago.

Frank McEldowney is back home after a three weeks visit to Florida, absorbing sunshine and renewing vigor to get through the blasts of March.

Harold Hess suggests adding year of birth on anniversary dates. Says once on a time we were hesitant to admit our age but now each added year is a possession of which to be proud.

Herb Follett got a scrap book in which he is pasting names as they appear and he is going to make real use of them. He also would like to learn of Hayden Conner and his silver tongue. Mudge says Hayden is near Franklin and usually sees him when making a trip to the North country.

From "Oats" Mudge comes an interesting letter. Continues active in medicine; tips scales at 182; not a gray hair still vivid auburn and to prove it sends clippings made that day by his barber. They didn't come from the top of his head for a newspaper picture which he also sent along showed him as hairless on the top as one of his pills but a fine looking gentleman at that. If you are ever Amesbury way be sure to look up Otis. No office appointment necessary for Potholers Yon will find him as hale as he was when a freshman he put to rout a half dozen and more sophomores when they attempted to put him through some of their hazing stunts

Jim Cook Was with us freshman year died suddenly March 19. While a resident of Melrose Jim was a frequent visitor at Dartmouth gatherings but there has been little news for many years. Can any of the class bring US up to date on Jim? The class extends its sincere sympathy to his surviving

Slouched m an easy chair, wading through the Sunday paper a half closed eye was attracted by a heading "Americans Champion Letter Writers," straightened up and read it again to be sure it wasn't a dream. Efforts were described as "prolific." As a class we may not rate that high but your "sec" is proud of the many who do write but it would be still better if more would loosen up. Needn't be "prolific." Gracias.
