National Letter Writing Week came and passed. No letters from the class. Has a patriotic desire to keep the Post Office Department from sinking into the "red" been the reason for infrequency or lack of letters? The "sec" did not do much letter writing that week either; only a single letter jacking up one of his main supports of last year. He also has on his desk several unanswered letters. B-a-a-d; excuse it please.

Ag Smith has cancelled a southern trip and a visit with the "sec" is out. My loss - for meeting up with a classmate is an event of "summit" importance.

Received several clippings rounding out a series of interesting articles on early California by our Billy Maclennan.

Waiting in a barber shop I read where our classmate, Arthur Noyes, had been honored by his associates of many years by their presentation of a life-size portrait painting to hang in the Administration Building at the State Hospital at Norristown, Penna., where Arthur long served as "Chief."

Mid-October brought the call for annual dues from Harold Hess. Most of you have already sent in your check. Harold's fine job as Treasurer was mentioned in the summer Class Letter. Harold for 1958-59 was within two points of top among sixty or more classes. For the current year let's be sure all last year "stalwarts" hold intact and at least two - or better still all - previous non-contributors come across.

Address change - Preston W. Howard, 4291 Maple Street N.E., St. Petersburg, Fla. Pip says change is permanent and has left behind snow shovelling for good. Posting that change with Pip's records, noted that some thirty or more years ago Pip specialized in swimming pools. Now, same commodity, Esther Williams, is "tops." Guess you recognize the lady. Suppose today Pip and Esther were contemporaries with pooled interests and a huckster slogan such as "Own a Pothole Esther - It's a Pip."

Strange things turn up in normal settings. F'erinstance. Dartmouth General Catalog - 1940 issue shows "Calgary, Alberta, Canada - H. M. Hess, Ins. 1903. "'Taint me" says Harold. Guess we'll have to take his word for it and set the College straight. Or do you have any information or clue as to the mas-querader?

Fred Guardineer who was with us freshman year died July 3, 1959, at Orlando, Fla., where he had made his home for several years. Fred always retained a happy interest in the class and college. His last contact came with our fiftieth. A more detailed story of Fred's career will appear in January In Memoriam.

Had an unexpected telephone chat with George Ford when he and his Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo recently visited Hershey, Penna. Keep watch for the appearance of the Ballet in your vicinity. It is now on tour, making upwards of a hundred stops during the present season which will continue until May. George was in fine shape and sent greetings to the class.

Closing date tomorrow and along comes from Harold Hess notes from several classmates accompanying payment of class dues. Wynne Matteson was East this summer visiting old scenes and relatives over night at Hanover Inn. Hayden Conner changed address; 217 Main Street, Tilton, X. H. Mentallyfine but physically a bit handicapped. You have a lot of company, Hayden. Dick and Helen Brown both well but seats at Harvard game don't have the former drawing power.

Ned and Charlotte Kenerson still have "pep" to go places and enjoy it. They saw the Brown game. Were with the Frenches twice this summer and thinks Mort and Molly are already on their way to Florida. Ned also joined up a couple of times with Andy Jackson. Hearty greetings from Jules Walther and Pudge Morse. Champ Follett has moved his store several blocks thereby making it more accessible to Elsie and himself. Mahomet in reverse.

Billy Stevens still active in law and in a few long-standing business connections. Has three married children and five grandchildren. Bill lives alone in the house where he was born. Keeps up with the football team and is sure it will end up with a good season. He didn't mention his violin.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all from the Wadhams; and many thanks too, for your help in making this work such a pleasant one.
