The class notes or June will appear after our 60th but all will cherish and have fond memories of bygone times and reunions.

Harold H. Woods' obituary in last month's Magazine was necessarily short as we had few facts to go on. Now, however we can give a few more items of interest in his life from a letter received from his daughter Mrs. Frederic W. Eddlem who lives in Groton, Mass.

First of all, she and her family greatly appreciate the expressions of sympathy they received from several Dartmouth alumni. She said that her father led a very quiet life in a small town; he had a few hobbies, such as gardening (great success with roses and gladioli), tinkering with radio, and such.

Harold was a descendant of several of Groton's original settlers. He graduated from Groton High School in 1909 and Dartmouth in 1913. He worked for many years as a wool broker in Boston and later retired from the staff of the Groton Leather Board Co. He was a member of the Groton Oddfellows and the Caleb Butler Lodge of Masons; a lifelong member of the Congregational Church; and a member of the Groton Republican Town Committee.

A letter from Ed Sides says that he has decided to attend the 60th in spite of his apprehensions. The doctor said go, so he goes. He goes on to say that it will give him a chance to get a little better acquainted. He hopes to see you all in Hanover and will be on the first floor of Russell Sage. His mobility will be limited.

A welcome letter from "Andy" Comstock acknowledges a birthday card. He says that he is not sure about returning for the 60th as he has an eye operation coming either in April or May and the doctor may not let him go. Says he would love to see all the gang again.

An encouraging note from Nelson Gay says that he had visited the doctor and got a good report. Doctor says that he should plan on going to the 60th so hopes to see all the gang. Ben Andrews and Marion paid them a visit some time ago and they seemed to be pretty well. Later in April they had dinner with Clayt Tucker at Northfield which is about halfway between Hancock, N.H., and Holyoke, Mass. Carl Shumway reports that he had a slight shock in January and it affected his left arm to a slight extent; his eyesight isn't what it used to be, but otherwise he is in good condition. He isn't sure that he can make Hanover for the Reunion as he lacks a ride from Concord to Hanover. He is particularly interested to see the Hanover Convalescent Home with a view to living there.

Dave Davidson, upon graduating in ' 13, became a construction engineer and after a successful and interesting career ranging all the way from Northern Ontario to Florida he and Hattie decided to live in Florida. They bought and developed a five-acre "flower ranch" in South Florida as a hobby while he was still engaged in construction work. Hattie was the horticulturist, specializing in sub-tropical plants and Dave was the shovel man. Three years ago, because of Dave's ear and eye trouble, they sold the ranch and built a house in West Palm Beach where they now live and maintain frequent contact with Cap Avery in Boynton Beach.

Stub Stoughton is taking off for six weeks in Florida and will return for our 60th. Let's hope that he will issue a special Newsletter on the Reunion in July.

Good health and a fine summer to all.
