After an early December win over M.I.T., 6-3, the Big Green squash team had a January match with Williams cancelled because of a snowstorm and in its most recent contests with Army and Harvard it was overpowered, 5-4 and 8-1.
The Big Green lineup for the Harvard match was somewhat different from that against M.I.T. John Herrick moved up to the number one spot, over Captain Marty Zipser, but both lost to their Crimson opponents. Rick Skolnik also moved up to third place ahead of Hobie Millington, but again both men lost their matches. Sophomore Phil Meyer, playing number five, was the only Dartmouth winner as he outlasted his opponent in a five-game match. Sam French, Ron Pickett, Al Stark and Don Hanauer all lost.
The day before the Harvard contest the Indians had played better but were still edged by Army, 5-4. Hobie Millington, Sam French, Ron Pickett and Al Stark - all in the lower rankings - were the Dartmouth winners against the Cadets.
