The headline, "Pancake Gets Flattened in Freshman Rush," should bring a rush of nostalgia to many a '37er as he thinks back to that melee shortly after we arrived at college the first fall. Bob Pancake has gone and done it again, but it only took one little girl this time. Edwina Handsfield from Wheaton and the man who gave his all for '37 one fall afternoon have settled down in Butte, Mont., where hubby is rated highly as a mining engineer.
Wayne Ballantyne is taking things in stride as usual. First it's a wife, the former Mavis Thirwall in Lima, Peru, in September; and on returning from his honeymoon, a promotion to manager of the Grace office in Quito, Ecuador.
Some of you bachelors ought to see the picture of Mrs. William Sayre that Pvts. Bankart and Devlin are now ogling. Nice going, Bill! The former Margery Comay from Redlands, Calif., and the pride of Tuck School will live in New Haven until Bill finishes Yale Law. El Timson, after three years of Mass. Tech, has relapsed into the arms of Armano Drown, Colby College product from White River Junction. Norm Robbie has finally given up the battle and said OK to the former Virginia Neilson of Plainfield, N. J. The bride and the blushing groom plan to make their nest in Plainfield. Another milestone for Mel Estey who received an appointment to New Hampton. A Master's Degree from Boston University paved the way.

In a smoke-filled, evil smelling room in the Statler H-D weekend, we heard about Warren Crumbine and Brad Johnson from Bill McKnight and Bill Hoyt. Crummy is having children at record speed and is holding a big money job in the Cleveland Trust. He thinks banks are more fun and wants to know who this Col. Ayres guy is anyway. Brad Johnson, our Senior Fellow, known around the University of Chicago as T. Walter "the Brain" Johnson, married the minister's daughter, and is a pillar of the local community.
A puzzled '37er writes to inquire whether Hank Doremus, reported in November as earning a handsome week's wage in Towaco, N. J., as a pomologist reads poms or what? Lucky the dolt didn't sigh that queryl
Bib Bankart's Kay Hillman can't figure out whether it's love or conscription that makes the man act that way. The engagament has been announced and marriage is in the near offing. Now if only the wool market holds up.
In case you don't recognize it, all the above is information gleaned from a column in the December, 1940 issue written by BibBankart and Jack Devlin. Until you readers begin to supply me with some news, I guess this sort of rehash is all you can expect.
The one bit of news we have this month concerns the marriage last November of Dave Hermann to Miss Lynn Hautman of Cincinnati. After a honeymoon in Europe, Dave and his bride will reside in New York City.
Bill Coe has been beating the bushes, rounding up information on '37ers living in New Jersey and New York City. He prom- ises to be our guest editor next month. This should make for some real good reading, and gives you one month's leeway to get those news items to me.
