With this issue, the column folds up for the summer with hopes of being ready to go again next fall. Again, I ask that summer news be shuffled along to Line Mitchell's Minneapolis abode, where, if the fates will it, Mitch may be concocting another "Sound and Fury." Before proceeding with this month's news, let me just add a word of thanks to all of you who took time to write in the past few months, to add bits of news we wouldn't know about otherwise. I can truthfully say that it's those letters that have made the column the least bit interesting and informative. They're greatly appreciated.

Realizing how disastrous this summer is bound to be for bachelor '58s, and how busy we'll be keeping track of engagements and weddings, we'd probably better wipe the slate clean before June. Wedding news:

Don Shagrin and Sandra Zahn of Kings Point, L. 1., were married in New York City in April. Don recently completed a six-month stint with the military. After a Mexican wedding trip, Don and Sandra returned to New York, where Don's with a CPA firm. Also, in April in New York City, Doug Pease and Sarah Anne Southern of New York were married. Doug's a. Navy ensign.

Engaged are Phil Ronkin and Adriane Weisberg of Manhattan Beach, Mass.; LarryMurphy and Kathleen Ann Driscoll of Worcester, Mass.; and Dave Glendinning and Prisciil'a Jackson of Danvers, Mass. Dave is now in his second year at Episcopal Theological School in Cambridge and is Seminarian Assistant to the Rector of Calvary Episcopal Church in Danvers. The couple plan a December wedding.

Other items of interest: Andy Petersen was recently assigned to the U. S. Navy Supply School in Athens, Ga„ after his graduation from Navy OCS at Newport, R. I. Bob Dewey has qualified as a carrier pilot after making several landings aboard the Carrier USS Intrepid. Recent recipients of Master's degrees include Joe Carter, who received his from the School of Business and Public Administration at Cornell and George Barr, who received a Social Work degree from Ohio State. Tom Morse graduated from the American Institute for Foreign Trade back in January, and Ed Turner has been appointed a sales representative for the New York District sales office of Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation.

Got a letter the other day from Hugh Fox, who says that he's been many months out of Army Language School and has been stationed in Thailand for some time now, dispelling any notions there's such an animal as the Ugly American. After Hugh finishes his Asian tour, he reports he'll be around Hanover for awhile.

Also heard from Fred Kosmo, who says that both he and Harriet, in addition to little Frederick William Jr. (age one) are getting along real well. Fred's a Marine artillery officer at Camp Pendleton, Calif., after being stationed at Quantico during Basic School. He just finished Naval Justice School and has hopes of taking on law school after quitting the troops. Kos, have you considered becom- ing a career officer? Well, really, I wouldn't. Law School doesn't hurt. .. much. Many thanks for the note. Incidentally, little Frederick William Kosmo, born March 15, 1959, looks very much like top candidate for '58 Class Boy honors. Do I hear any other takers? (It's inconceivable to think that there are others.) Going, going... ? One other item which I very regrettably mislaid some time ago relates to Sam and Robin Smith and a son, Jeffery Morris, born to them on March 27, 1959. I can confirm that this is a real good-looking little fellow as I saw his picture. Looks as if he owns more hair than his father, though.

Time and space limits oblige me to throw in the sponge now and await another year, when we'll again pick up the story of that independent, creative, fearless seeker of truth - the '58, what he's doing, where he is, who he's living with now, his hopes, fears, fortunes, failures, engagements, marriages, offspring, and the like. In the meantime, a helping hand (i.e. check) to Class Agent Stu Gord and the Alumni Fund would be much appreciated. We're not a high pressure organization, you understand. We just encourage participation. Thanks for your interest and cooperation the past season. Talley ho! Kit
