Two more books have been placed in the Dartmouth Library in memory of LawrenceClarke Stoddard who died on March 13, of a heart attack after a long illness, and in memory of Henry Hovey Nutt who died April 7 in Brooklyn, N. Y., after a long illness. In Memoriam notices will appear in this or a subsequent issue of the MAGAZINE.

One more couple, George and HelenKnight, are to be with us at the Hanover Inn, October 6, 7, 8 this fall. That is a total of 24 couples and nine singles, men or widows.

Pat Maloney, retired managing editor of the Chicago Tribune, reviewed the book, "Pershing: A Soldier Cast in a Rare Mold" by Richard O'Connor (Doubleday). Pat ends his review "The author concludes, and the readers will agree, that no man in American military history deviated less from what was expected of an American officer than did America's only six-star general since Washington. Though Pershing was not Americas greatest general, one nation has had few, if any, greater soldier."

Bart and Renza Shepard are proud that Alan was chosen to be the first space man. All the class shares this pride and joined the whole country in prayers for Alan's success and safety. The success of the trip and its contribution to science will make this 1913 son famous in our country's history.
