Although we have some very important engagements and weddings to report this month, let's pull a little switch and start out by discussing a few other items of interest.
I could hardly help but begin by telling you a little about Bill and Judi Van Law, who are now living in Louisville, Ky., and taking awfully good care of me during my first few months of military orientation at Ft. Knox. After departing the Navy, Bill got a job with the J. C. Penney Co. and moved to Louisville where he and Judi have lived the .past year and a half. At the Louisville store, Bill's in charge of the boys' department and was just recently promoted to the store's managerial staff. Likewise, Bill appears to have been successful in private life. He and Judi expect their first in May, replacing Duchess, their German Shephard, as the No. 1 attraction.
News from Boston comes by way of Walt Yusen who insists that skiing isn't keeping him quite as occupied as his job. From the sound of his letter, however, reporting that he's rented a house at Stowe, it would appear that Walt is still a happily adamant bachelor, fervently enjoying his wine, women, song . . . and skiing. Among those recently seen on the slopes, according to Walt, were Tryg Myhren, Phil Stoddart,Barry Stompe, John Fiske, and Bill Smith. Bill, incidentally, is engaged to be married in June to Judyth Trova of Pittsfield, Mass. He's currently attending Boston Univ. Med School. Thanks for your note, Walt.
From Boston, also, comes word that Tedand Mary Ann Harris are parents of a new arrival, coming into the ring at 8 lbs., 3 ozs. on Jan. 13. . . . Edward Day Harris III, nicknamed Ned. The class extends its congratulations and best wishes to all three of you.

Named sales promotion manager of the Wm. S. Merrell Co. division of Richardson-Merrell Inc. of Cincinnati was Dave Sharrock. Dave's living with his wife Barbara in Cincinnati. Another promotion concerns Dave Payne, who's been appointed an assistant secretary of the Connecticut Bank and Trust Co. of Hartford.
Married in December were Bob Allen and Phoebe Hicks of Devon, Pa. Bob's affiliated with the First National Bank of Boston. Another December ceremony was that of John Gundy and Sally Jo Howell of Easton, Pa. John's in his fourth year at Cornell Med School. Greenwich, Conn., was the setting for the marriage of Joel Farrell and Julia Hurt. Joel is an advertising specialist with GE in Bridgeport, Conn.
I have been informed that Dave Weber is in Dick's House at Hanover for a few months awaiting a back operation. Back to finish up at Tuck School after three years in the Marine Corps, this is a real rough break for a guy as active as Dave. I'm quite sure he'd appreciate a few notes or cards from you out there. Thanks.
