Good news from the head office! Treasurer Robert D. Oldfield Jr. reports that we have set a new all-time record for Class Dues, 377+, which erases the old mark of 376 set in 1955. Congratulations to you all for coming through so nobly. And to those of you who have not as yet sent in your dues, let's make it a real banner year. I haven't heard from Ellie Mover as to our present position in the Alumni Fund, but if the response to Class dues is any indication I would venture a guess that we'll do O.K. in that area too. Don't forget to send your Fund contributions, along as soon as possible.
From John Washburn comes news of his work for the U.S. Government. "Spent first half of 16th United Nations General Assembly as advisor for United States Mission to the United Nations and United States Delegation to the 16th General Assembly. Served as an executive officer with those members of our U.S. delegation representing the U.S. in the Third Committee of the U.N. General Assembly." Very interesting, John, but what did you do?
Huntley Bennett has joined the San Francisco advertising firm of Johnson and Lewis, Inc., as account executive for American President Lines. He had previously been Time Magazine manager in MinneapolisSt. Paul. Hunt is a former vice president of the Magazine Club of San Francisco and director of San Francisco's Milline Club.
Bob Lee writes that he's still in politics in Fairfield, Conn., as an escape from the daily vicissitudes of the brokerage business. Last November "the voters in rock-ribbed Republican Fairfield lost their heads and reelected yours truly and Democratic running-mate to the Board of Selectmen by the biggest plurality ever in the town - 4,200." What's going on in Connecticut, anyway?
Directors of the J. Walter Thompson Co. announce the election of Howard D. Brundage, a partner in J. H. Whitney and Co., as vice president for finance and treasurer. Howie has been with J. H. Whitney and Co. since 1952, serving on temporary assignments as president of the New York Herald Tribune from January to July, 1959 and before that as its vice president from August to December, 1958.

After having disappeared from our records, Dave Wilkes reappears, to our surprise, on the Dartmouth campus and, again to our surprise, for the purpose of getting married. As if that wasn't surprise enough, he was married last February by Fred Berthold. The new Dartmouth wife is Mrs. Alice Mead Ott, formerly of Toms River, N. J. Since leaving Dartmouth, Dave has published several short stories, been active in Democratic politics and now teaches at Southern Regional High School, Toms River, with residence in the Long Beach area. Wonder how School Board candidate Rod Sweeny did in this spring's elections in East Longmeadow, Long Island? Also keeping her hand in politics as a member of the League of Woman Voters of Portland, Me., is Anne, Mrs. Howard P. Sawyer, wife of that eminent physician. Annie says she used to attend government meetings with knitting in hand until they began referring to her as Madame LaFarge. She also sent along a picture of her eight children.
Tom Goss has joined the staff of the Central National Bank of Cleveland. Ludwig Sehaefer is assistant professor of History at Carnegie Tech and Chairman of the Freshman History survey. He edited D. C. Heath's publication, "The Ethiopian Crisis: Touchstone of Appeasement," which was published last July. His wife, Peggy, is an assistant professor of Physiological Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh, working on her doctorate in Biochemistry. Some family! Professor George Rice writes from Decatur, Ga, that he is "happily engaged in several research projects. Rats today - perhaps porpoises tomorrow." Hmmm.
That's all for this month.
