On January 27, at the College of New Rochelle, we co-sponsored a meeting on the ABC program with the Mt. Holyoke Westchester alumnae. Mt. Holyoke has a counter- part program for outstanding but underprivileged girls. Dartmouth's "A Better Chance" director, Dean "Doc" Dey '52 was present, as were key Mt. Holyoke people and many Westchesterites who work with disadvantaged children. Attendance was about 150, drummed up primarily by Warren Agry '42 and Joel Einhorn '58.
On February 26, the Glee Club made the echoes ring for Dartmouth at the White Plains High School auditorium - that is, whatever echoes might have been able to squeeze past the capacity crowd of 1100 or more. It was easily the most successful such event in our history, and the only further encomium that can be heaped on the brow of our program chairman, Dave Metz '54 is, "What have you done for us lately?" Most of the crowd, despite the directions given by v.p. and treasurer Tom Schwarz'54, made it to a post-concert party at the Scarsdale Golf Club, where it started all over again. As the Injunaires say, "What a town to get lost in." To names of those who have already received credit for their part in the evening's success should be added Red Gristede '31, whose gift basket drawing prizes were a feature of the Scarsdale party. The efforts of all added a healthy $4200 to our scholarship fund's coffers.
Among our next projects is a plan to bring the Dartmouth-Princeton game to Westchester via closed-circuit television next October 8, but we admit that the impossible takes a little longer.
