Mingled with the Harvard cheers were the Dartmouth tears and those of some '59s were among them. Happily, however, those who met in the big cage at the open end of Harvard Stadium were not so down-hearted that they could not bend an elbow, catch up on news and give candid quarterbacking suggestions on the game.

Harry Shaw, minus crew cut, was talking with Tom Waterman when I bumped into him. Harry is currently with U.S. Steel; Tom is busy at Harvard Law School along with Tom Taggart and John Wadham. At the entrance to the steaming cage Bruce McInnes was preparing to leave the scene for New Haven where he is busy with composing music and directing a glee club. He mentioned that Bob Bailey, who gave us many enjoyable moments at the piano in Webster Hall, is busy in the music department at Princeton. I'm afraid the rest of my battle in the cage produced only fleeting images of familiar '59 faces - those of Art Duggan and Fred Scribner included.

At a very satisfying sours and sandwiches party before the game given in Cambridge by Butch and Cle Priest, many bits of news were communicated between sips and munches. Sam and Nancy Adams were taking advantage of a handy neighbor to neighbor intercom system which solves baby sitting worries. Sam is busy finishing up his Ph.D. in Geology at Harvard while Nancy takes care of the little ones. Tom Brackett had flown in from Cleveland where he is selling insurance. (He almost had to make a claim of his own when he lost a full wallet en route from the stadium to our car after the game. Fortunately he retraced his steps and happened upon it.) Mike and Peggy Nolen were also present. Mike now works for Kidder Peabody in investment banking. Leaving their new daughter back in New Jersey, Chris and Jan Cundey made the trip up and battled through Cambridge traffic to the Priest's door. Rounding out the '59 contingent at the party were Jim andBetsy Wooster who now own a cozy home in Needham from which Jim rides the train to work tOr New England Tel. The Woosters put on a very plentiful feast for the group after the game, but following Butch out there through the tide of Massachusetts drivers and ambiguous blinking lights almost cost Deb and me our lives - really made us Emmets feel out of touch with the ways and skills of the thriving metropolis. Such were the goings-on related to Harvard weekend. Send me any hot bits you commuters picked up from our delegates to the Yale and Princeton tilts, or Columbia for that matter.

Moving back to press items received we find news of Al Jemison's marriage to Carole Anne Walz Bergmann of Short Hills, N. J. Al is presently production manager of Western Termite Control in Mountainside, N. J.Ed Labenski plans to wed Maureen Ellen Sexton this winter. His fiancee is currently on the nursing staff of the hospital in Hartford, Conn., while Ed is a registered representative with the W. E. Hutton Co., Hartford office. Steve Gould joined the staff of Williston Academy this fall as a teacher of German. After his release from the Army Steve studied at the Berlitz School, Nuremberg Germany. From Rumford, Me., comes news of Bob Monahan's promotion to the position of senior research associate in the paper-making research group of the Oxford Paper Company. A bulletin from Western Reserve University announces the awarding of a Master of Business Administration de- gree to Mike Williams.

Bob Granovski writes of his marriage m August to Bambi Prager. After a honeymoon in Mexico the couple took up residence in Brooklyn. Bob's is the first letter I have received bearing news since assuming this lively post. Come on! Make it less of a detective's existence for me. Give my rural mailman something to feel big about. Anyway, thanks for the effort, Bob, lets hope you set a precedent.

And now, if you'll allow me some speculation I'll glance at a new address list just sent to me and see if I can guess what you're doing. Tom Adriance is an instructor in history at Castleton (Vt.) State College. John Allbee is a plastics salesman for the Dow Chemical Co. in Camden. N. J. Jun Burner is a staff assistant, office of the Treasurer, Northern Illinois Gas Co. JohnChilson is studying law at the University of Colorado, and John Coffin is teaching at the International School, K Beverweert, Wekhoven, U, Holland. Not being fluent in the tongue I hope that's where he lives and not some thesis project. Paul Egner is a retail salesman for Shell Oil in Oakland, Calif. Nick Monsour is teaching at La Puente Union High School in La Puente, Calif., and working on a Ph.D. at Claremont Graduate School.

And still from the list compiling the address cards sent by the college facts indicate that Dick Hoehn has given up playing tennis on South Sea Islands to study law at Harvard. Dave Spaulding is an instructor at Stanford U. and Carlos Plummer is a graduate student and teaching assistant at the University of Washington in the Geology Department.

I could go on making something out of these lists, but they lack the personal touches that can differentiate a human interest story from an occupational directory. We need something fresh, unique, and colorful, that comment or item tells us how close you've ventured to the twilight zone. Fill out the questionnaire sent by John. Well do the editing and bring this class to life. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a cheerful morning after the night before or New Year's Day!
