The annual admissions problems are definitely in the forefront now, and you might be surprised by a few statistics which give some indication of how the School is progressing. With a month still to go before the deadline, we have received 1250 requests for application forms, 525 of which have already been returned completed. The Committee has interviewed 125 to date, and will continue at the rate of 12 to 15 weekly. With a maximum of 48 openings to fill, selection has developed into almost a full-time job. Don't let the numbers discourage you if you have a promising candidate — we are always looking for good prospects. So urge your hopefuls to submit their data as early as possible.

Report on the progress of construction: bricks have now reached the top of the Gilman Biomedical Science Building so that the workers will be under cover for the winter weather which has already made its initial appearance. The framework of the overhead bridge between the Kellogg Medical Auditorium and the Medical Science Building is up, and we will soon be able to go from the farthest corner of the hospital to the top of the Medical Science Building without exposure to the elements.
