Once again the faculty demonstrated its superiority over the students on skis. The occasion was the annual faculty-student slalom held on the hill across from Strasenburgh Hall on February 22. After a couple of hours of serious skiing approximately six hours were used in defrosting! It was an out-standing event which attracted a large crowd.

A second noteworthy affair occurred on March 2 when the students held their annual reception and social hour for the faculty. Newspapermen estimated the attendance at something over 250, and the crowd was comfortably accommodated in the activities room of Strasenburgh. It was indeed pleasant not to feel the floor vibrate under all that weight, even though none of the spirit of former years was lacking. It was a grand occasion.

The Dartmouth Medical Lecture was delivered by Sir Hans Krebs, Professor of Biochemistry at Oxford University and a Nobel Laureate, on March 13 in the Kellogg Medical Auditorium.

Jim Robinson M'43, now doing internal medicine in Summit, N.J., visited us briefly in mid-February. Bob Rochelle M'47, now covering Cleveland, came through Hanover to show his wife the wonders of our winter scene. Stan Rosenberg M'ss rivaling our other TV star, Bill Gallagher M'58, is sandwiching television appearances between his duties as resident at Presbyterian. Bill Kieger M'57, presently doing surgical research at Ohio State, appeared in print in a recent issue of Surgical World. Bob Shirley M'58, back from California and starting a residency at Boston Lying-in in April, stopped his skiing long enough to bring his wife for a tour of our new facilities.

J.C. Parkes M'59 honored us with a visit and introduced us to a good-looking nurse whom he called Margaret; and we later heard from them, plus Frankie Hoefle M'59 and Sandra, at M'59's favorite restaurant in New York. On the day of J.C.'s visit, JimMacDowell M'59 also breezed through, spending fifteen minutes with us. Paul Raslavicius M'58 seemed to be enjoying himself at the student party for the faculty, but we never did get to see his wife who was reportedly present. Mark Cloutier M'58, now in the Army at Madigan General Hospital in Tacoma, tells us that Joan and he have been enjoying really fine skiing in the Mount Rainier area. Myrna ten Bensel reported from Minneapolis for Bob M'59 and herself the arrival of Elizabeth on February 8, as well as Bob's appointment to a two-year Wyeth Fellowship in Pediatrics.

Carnival still attracts alumni as is witnessed by this list of those who reported in: Shelly Lippe M'61, Eric Sailer M'61, Dave Gordin M'62, Jeff Kane M'62, Gary Manchester M'62, Dave Schmidt M'62, Bill Sheehan M'62, Ted Tapper M'62, Tony Wattleworth M'62 and Doug Zipes M'62.

Another big drawing date, with an accent on skiing, is Washington's Birthday which brought to Hanover: Ross Mclntyre M'ss, Kev Ryan M'57, Bob Freeh M'58, Pete Spiegel M'59, Jack Remmers M'60, Don Bartlett M'61, Jim Longcope M'61, Val Leval M'62, and Bob Prouty M'62.
