Ned French and Joe Nuelle were in Hanover recently staying at Dick's House while getting a check-up. The report from the doctors was that they must be leading very exemplary lives as they were in better physical condition than they were a year ago.
On December 4, 1962 Dud Warner was honored at a testimonial dinner by the Kiwanis Club of Athol, Mass., for his long years of service and dedication to Kiwanis International. He was presented with a Legion of Service Certificate for his twenty-five years of service.
I wonder how many of us remember that Dud was a professional baseball pitcher. "Jum," as he was known to his baseball fans, was a very popular drawing card in the minor league. Since his retirement he has been associated with his son Wesley in Warner's Studio and Camera Shop in Athol.
Winifred Glaze writes that Ralph is in excellent health and seems to be getting younger each year. He walks (or rather runs) several miles every day and even his boxer "Hooligan" has trouble keeping up with him. They have lived in their cabin home in the hills of Cambria for twelve years and enjoy it very much. They call their home "Dunarovin." Their married daughter, Marian, lives in Wakefield, Mass., and has two daughters, both married. One of these daughters has two children which makes Ralph a great-grandfather. Their son, Ralph Jr., lives in Cambria and has two daughters. For the past three years Winifred was in very poor health but her doctor has finally got her back in circulation.
Robert French '57 has written me that his father, Charles, suffered a stroke on November 6 and has been confined in the Forest Manor Nursing Home, 8 Parker Road, Wakefield, Mass., since that date. While his left side is paralyzed he remains mentally alert. Hopes to get out in time to enjoy the holidays with his family.
Oliver Cromwell spent the month of November in the hospital but is back home feeling better than ever.
It is again time to be thinking about the 1963 Alumni Fund. And once again the first contributor from our class is Ned French. Here is hoping that all the other members of the class will be as prompt and generous as Ned.
Adriance, Dakin, Ritchie and St. Clair will be a year older this month.
