We liked to think of Robert Frost as being Dartmouth's own. We remember this man greeting us as freshmen, and bidding us farewell as graduating seniors, speaking with the strength of the American character, and with a softness like a summer breeze caressing the aged hills of New England. But now, with his passing, we realize that we have no special claim to him or his po- etry; our loss is great, but indeed it is no greater than that of all men. Frost belonged to all men, and now he belongs to the ages.

Moving right into the engagements and weddings column, we find that Duke Ellington was engaged over Christmas vacation to Susan (Bo) Jannicky. Bo is a '62 from Colby Jr. and hails from the state of Vermont. The couple plan a September 14 wedding date. Also engaged to a Colby Jr. '62 is MikeBeachley, in his second year at Dartmouth med. His wife-to-be is Deborah Samson of Westport, Conn. Miss Samson is completing her work for a B.S. in medical technology at Mary Hitchcock. Dwight Hayward plans to get hitched this June to Cynthia Wheaton of Burlington. Vt. Miss Wheaton attended Skidmore College and is currently a student in the special course for college women at Katie Gibbs in Boston. Bernie Jacobs, attending the State University Medical School in Brooklyn, is engaged to Elaine Rubin of Mahopac, N. Y. Miss Rubin is a junior at the University of Bridgeport, Conn.

Continuing with the engagements, we find that Jeanne Sands of Arlington, Va. and John Shaw have announced their intentions of wedlock. Miss Sands attended the University of Aix-en-Provence in France, and currently is studying at Vanderbilt University. John is doing graduate work at the University of Oregon. Dick Whitfield is engaged to Pamela Babcock of Rutland, Vt. Miss Babcock is a graduate of Sargent College at Boston University, and has been a physical therapist at Mary Hitchcock and at Queen's Hospital, Honolulu, Hawaii. Dick is working as a research engineer with Whitfield Laboratories in Bethel, Conn. Lt. Brian Bramson and Miss Joyce Hammond have recently announced their engagement. Miss Hammond, of Portsmouth, N. H., is in her second year at Mary Hitchcock. Living in Wakefield, Mass., are Mr. and Mrs. LewCoronis. Lew and Sandy were married on December 30 in Rollins Chapel by Dean Fred Berthold. Big Green ushers included Dave Armstrong, Jack Beaton '63, and Pete Halverson. The alumnus and wife, naturally enough, held their reception in Hopkins Center's Alumni banquet room. Lew is currently associated with Filene's in Boston.

Tom Komarek was honored as a distinguished graduate of the United States Air Force Officer Training School, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, at the graduation ceremonies for his class. He was commissioned a second lieutenant and assigned to duty as a personnel officer at Webb Air Force Base in Texas. Tom received his appointment to the Officer Training School last fall through competitive examinations with other college graduates. He is married to the former Judith Ann Faulkingham of Manchester, N. H.

Got a pleasant note recently from DavedeWilde who just had his first shore leave of more than 24 hours. It must have been quite an adjustment for Dave to make - from one hour trips at the rope tow on the golf course, to a three day skiing venture in the Italian Alps. Dave relates that he ran into Ed Schumacher and wife at that famous tower in Pisa. This substantiates the rumors which have been drifting back across the Atlantic of somebody gazing at the tower and singing . . just another building job of old Psi U." Ed is currently studying at the London School of Economics. Rog Usborne and Steve Bradish '6l joined Dave in Naples for a little sight-seeing. Rog is Ist Division Officer on the "JJSS Severn," an oiler. Also trying out the climate at sea is Mike Howard who is Supply Officer of the "USS Damato," a destroyer operating out of Norfolk.

Bob Brown is out at the University of Washington Law School after spending the summer acting like a native for tourists at the World's Fair.

Dave Schorer is at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas where he's second in command (once again) of the local IDC. It sure does look impressive to see OD Lt. Col. Schorer on the return address of the envelope. But pretty soon he'll be just a plain 2nd looie in Glascow, Mont. (Glascow, Montana??)

Out at the Army Language School in California is 2nd Lt. Jack Seymour. Jack started out at Ft. Benning, Ga., along with SteveTucker and Sandy Apgar. Then he went on to Ft. Holabird, Md., and finally out to sunny California.

Also out in California, on a somewhat more permanent basis, are Di and KentMorton. (What was the brand name of those white shoes, Kent?) Kent is manager of the Foothills Tennis and Swimming Club in Palo Alto.

Dick Zartler writes all kinds of interesting things from his vantage point at the Harvard Business School. Unfortunately, the best items are marked "not for print." So, to find out all the juicy details you'll just have to sit down and write to Zarts at Gallatin E-34, Harvard Business School. This brings up a favorite topic of ours: We have a fairly upto-date address list of classmates. There's no need to neglect writing to someone by using the weak excuse that you don't have his address. Just let me know and I'll do my best to get you whatever information I can. And one further reminder, if you change ad- dresses please drop a note either to me or to the Alumni Records Office, Crosby Hall, Hanover. This is one of the best ways for us to be sure to have an up-to-date list.

So, until the Hanover mud season, we say auf wiedersehen, a bientot, adios.
