Happy spring, ’05s! I heard from Danielle Ricci that Eric Lindley was, as always, doing some awesome things. When we e-mailed in February Eric was just finishing up the music for “a rock opera based on the Gertrude Stein opera Dr. Faustus Lights the Lights.” A Cal arts grad student director was putting it on this year. Eric says, “The libretto, to me, is all about turn-of-the-century anxieties about science/knowlege and the newfound power of electric light to supplant natural light sources like the moon and firelight.”
Eric also spent some time recently traveling around India with Heather Monley. It sounds like they had a lot of fun.
Meg Thering has been keeping busy. In August Meg visited Meredith Jones, who is living in Atlanta. Then she visited Jeanne Franzone in New York City, followed by visiting Tricia Shalka in Philadelphia over Thanksgiving. In December she met up with Kelly Morr and Victoria Lee in L.A. Meg informs me that Victoria is a first-year at Berkeley Law School. With all this traveling Meg also had time to pass the California bar exam and is now working in the labor and employment group in the L.A. office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
Congratulations are in order for Tim Millikin, who got engaged to Christina Ebner (University of Florida) on Valentine’s Day! The two met after Tim moved to California after graduation. Tim also got into and will be attending Stanford Business School this fall!
Tim Millikin also tells me that he had a mini-reunion of folks for skiing over Martin Luther King weekend in Tahoe. Rawson Daniel, Cam Fortin, Noah Zandan and Andrew Chen were all there. He also recently caught up with Steve Joseph, Adam Corrado and Lauren Hoelein in Boston.
Big congratulations also to Ben Cassady, who got engaged earlier this year to Liz Durken!
Congratulations as well to Antonio Valla. Andrew Verstein wrote to let me know that Antonio “is the only man in America to get a job in real estate in this economy.” He just started a job at RBH Group in New York City—he’ll be working on a redevelopment project in Newark, New Jersey.
Also Congrats to Brooking Gatewood, who was accepted into UC Irvine to get a Ph.D. in sociology! When last we spoke Brooking was looking forward to moving to San Diego from Santa Cruz in April.
