It is a wonderful blessing to have good neighbors, such as Sally and the Secretary have enjoyed since coming to Vero Beach - and especially during the period of Beck's illness; and now, twelve states removed from Massachusetts we find many classmates coming to the Sunshine State - Welcome to Florida!!

This winter, already, Ike Maynard and the Websters from Randolph, Vt., have visited us. The Edgerlys at Ormond Beach promise to call on us, and possibly the Hinmans. Robbie and Hope are at the Gulf and Bay Club, Siesta Keys, in Sarasota, and the Hobbs and Vails are nearby. Nearly a quarter of the Class have become our neighbors in Florida; for the winters at least.... Oh yes, Jack Sanderson is in Orlando too.

Our Class Treasurer, Tom Streeter, has sent you the financial status of the Class. Our surplus is getting thin. He needs our help.

Thanks, boys, for the lovely tree. It is growing fine - called Norfolk Island Pine. A Dartmouth 1904 plaque is placed at its base and all callers at the Johnson home admired it and the tribute from the Class. We are very proud of it.

Shortly you will receive from our beloved Squid notice of the Alumni Fund. Save up a few bucks to back up Squid who presently finds himself confined to the house with a bit of heart and leg disability. Write that guy a letter along with your check - we all love him - give him a hand.

Carl Woods is still on the doctor's calling list — none braver, more cheerful — and plans to be with us for our 60th Reunion; his address is 172 Beacon Street, Boston, Mass. Write him.

What a wonderful gift to the College given by Nat Leverone '06 - picking up the tab for what will be called the Leverone Field House. Keene, N.H., gave to Dartmouth two loyal Sons, Jig and Nat Leverone. A Salute to them from 1904.

Your Secretary has received many gracious and lovely gifts from the Class for his services for which he is very proud. Another gift came this past week from none other than that great guy of 1909, Jack Childs. A tribute to Beck, Sally and their dog "Mickey" who passed away in January. A member of the Johnson family for fourteen years. His cocker spaniel. A man's best pal is his dog. The gift from Jack came from his hand and press - a poem, written by Jack, imprinted with the picture of Sally and the Secretary, a picture too of "Mickey" - a cut representing Beck burning the midnight oil in preparing the 50th Reunion Class Report and a cut representing a Golden Crown given to Beck for his nearly sixty years of service to Class and College. What a wonderful expression. It deeply touched us both and has joined the family heirlooms from classmates to be handed down to the family. We Were very proud of the gift and find it difficult to adequately express our thanks to Jack. An honor Beck will always be proud of.

Tom Streeter has had his long distance telephone visit with Capt. Hardy — both getting along fine. Nice long letter from HerbieAndrews up in South Brookville, Me., buried to the chin in snow. Nice hearing from you, Herbie. Hope the wife is getting better. She has been ill for some time. Owen Burdett and the wife have retired to a nursing home in Brattleboro, Vt. Neither is very well. I hope to have their address so you can write them. Our best to you both, Owen.

That's it for now - Cheerio. Write your Secretary.
