Wah Hoo Wah for Bill Parmer '42 of Tenafiy, past president of DCBC, who was elected president of the Dartmouth Club Officers Association at its fall meeting in Hanover early in October. Also attending the meeting were President Don Sisson '45 and Secretary Ed Senghas '47.
Chairman "Gus" Allen '53, reports that the 1964-65 Membership Campaign is off to a fine start. Thanks to the efforts of Area Chairmen George Davis '52, Jack Pfeiffer'43 and Wood Deyoe '48 the local Sachems are pouring the tribute into the Tribal Wampum Pouch in increasing numbers. The Club's Scholarship Fund is getting its annual nourishment and it appears that Treasurer Hank Grebe '54 will not have to buy anything but black ink this year.
Club Officers, trustees and local Dartmouth men and their gals met informally at the Chimes Restaurant on Friday, October 9 to raise a cheer, a song, and a glass in observance of Dartmouth night. This strictly word of mouth summons to the local campfire brought out many old familiar faces (some young familiar ones too) and a fine assortment of new faces, both young and old.
Plans are in the making for a DCBC sponsored meeting of high school guidance counsellors in the late fall. The Club plans to use the "Dartmouth Today" film and have a speaker from the college on hand.
Steve Shaul '65, Fair Lawn and holder of the DCBC scholarship, will be one of the principal student speakers at the Club's Christmas Recess Party for Dartmouth prospects to be held at Ridgewood Country Club. Steve will be assisted by many of the Bergen County undergraduate contingent as well as local Enrollment and Interviewing workers. The program is planned by Enrollment Chairman Howard Pitts III '53 and other club officers.
Deprived of its usual late November twisting of the Tiger's Tail by the Ivy schedule makers, the local war party is working up a scalping sortie against the benign and unwarlike Quaker in Philadelphia on November 21. With all those tiger tails hanging out of all those tanks, one local bon vivant opined that the Princeton crew had finally "run out of gas." Blaze the trail along the Turnpike - cross the Delaware and on to Franklin Field.
Topping this year's events will be the Monster Rally to be staged Saturday, March 21, 1965 when DCBC will once again bring the Dartmouth Glee Club to Paramus High School Auditorium for an evening concert. This gala event will be followed by the Annual Spring Dance at Ridgewood Country Club. This promises to be THE Saturday night of 1965 so mark your calendar, line up your sitters, and make big plans for the biggest Dartmouth evening in years.
