Congratulations to GaryHobin, U.S. Army retired and brand new U.S. Foreign Service Officer. Gary completed the Foreign Service Orientation Course at the Foreign Service Institute in Washington this summer and has been assigned to the U.S. Embassy in Damascus, Syria. Although the Middle East assignment is just the challenge Gary was seeking, he will spend the initial year at his new post unaccompanied. Liz will join him later, following son Brian's senior year in the Peachtree City, Ga., schools.
More good news arrived in the spring from the D.C. area: Roger Witten writes that daughter Wendy will head to Hanover in September as a member of the Dartmouth class of 1996. Needless to say, Roger, Jill, and ninth-grade daughter Kate are excited for Wendy.
Roger works in one of Washington's large law firms, Wilmer, Cutler, and Pickering, where he enjoys practicing what he calls "crisis litigation." It turns out that another classmate, Bill Kolasky, works in the same firm.
Don't forget our mini-reunion after the Dartmouth-Yale game on October 17. Mini-reunion chair John Engelman has already booked the Smoyer Lounge for our post-game celebration. Contact John at (603) 643-3689 for more details, or to pass along ideas for other mini-reunions as we lead up to the big event June 17-20, 1993.
