MARCH 1964 GEORGE W. PUTNAM, ROGER W. BROWN

Roger Brown has sent me a copy of the booklet celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Boston. Also with this program came a photostatic copy of the January 7th 1863 Boston Journal, containing an account of the Dartmouth Alumni dinner at the Revere House, a matter of real historic interest. The program, attractively set up, contains among other material several interesting cuts of scenes in Hanover 100 years ago and copies of the contrasting menus of the dinners held in 1863 and 1963. At the latter affair President Emeritus Hopkins and President Dickey were the guests of honor. Roger has not informed me who of 1905 besides himself had the pleasure of attending this noteworthy occasion.

An interesting and worthwhile hobby is a great blessing, not only for us "older citizens," but for any age. Marjorie McCabe Wust, oldest child of our Frank McCabe of happy memory, has sent me an illustrated copy of a detailed account of the very remarkable hobby in which she and her husband, Louis, have been engaged for a good many years. Devoted and earnest Roman Catholics, they have accumulated an outstanding collection of relics of the saints and beati. "This collection's treasure," states the article, "is a relic of the true cross. It is also marked by relics ex ossibus of each of the Twelve Apostles." The Wusts have made five trips to Rome gathering their superb collection.

The address of Chet and Jane Lawrence is 2306 6th St., Tillamook, Ore. 97114. Mention was made last month of their visit out there for the winter.

There is a dearth of news this month. Probably our Florida sojourners are too comfortable to bestir themselves to write, and the rest are too preoccupied figuring their income taxes and what the next change of weather will bring.
