Did your secretary lament a "dearth of news" last month? Imagine his happiness in having received, if not a flood, at least a goodly number of items, chiefly from the Southland.
It was in Florida that there were held two gatherings of Dartmouth men, including some from 1905. The first, February 6, was a dinner at the Dartmouth Sarasota Club, the biggest and best yet, according to Roger Brown. He attended with lane and C.C. Hills, also Kenerson '03 and Hobbs '04. Present, too, were Charlotte and Hugh Morrison '26. We remember gratefully the kind, efficient help that Charlotte afforded us while she was in charge of the Alumni Records Office.
The second reunion took place February 13, a luncheon at the Clearwater Beach Hotel. An exclusively 1905 affair, it included John and Molly Bell, Roger andJane Brown, Fred Chase, Charlie and RuthGoodrich, C.C. Hills, Leon Smith and wife and Dick and Mabel Tolman. These are always happy gatherings.
Fred Chase has undertaken an interesting bit of, shall we say, archeological study. He is planning to write an account of the recently erected monument to Eleazar Whee-lock in Connecticut and an older sign marking the existence of Eleazar's school for Indians. Among his pupils was the well known Samson Occum. Fred is keeping up the tradition of the illustrious Chase-Lord family.
"Cy" White has made a very satisfactory recovery. He is back at his regular daily walks - no mere strolls about the block - but several miles at a stretch. Can any one else in our class match Cy in this healthful habit?
In the passing of Tom Keady the class has lost one of its most widely known and well liked men. We have been saddened in recent years by Tom's incapacitating ill health. A solemn Mass of Requiem was sung at St. Christopher's Church, February 15 in Nashua, N.H. Interment was in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Hudson. Dartmouth was represented by Harold Haskell, James Everett 'O9, and Dr. Norman W. Crisp Sr. '21. Dr. Crisp also served as a pall bearer.
For further details of Tom Keady's remarkable career in athletics, see the obituary under In Memoriam in this or a later issue.
