The Merrimack County Bar Association on April 9 honored Herbert Rainie for "his distinguished service to the profession" at a dinner in Concord, N. H. Bert says he retired some years ago but his picture in the newspaper looked about the same as when he graduated.

Gertrude Smith writes that her daughter, Miriam, is living in Louisiana and has three sons, one of whom is working in North Carolina, another is a senior at Middleburv and the other is a freshman at the University of Colorado. Her daughter Frances lives in Brattleboro and has two sons, one of whom hopes to go to Dartmouth.

Marion Waring still lives in the house into which she moved fifty years ago. Her oldest son, Dwight Jr., graduated from Brown and has a Master's degree in Education from Bridgeport University. He is councillor technician in the Hartford office of the Connecticut State Labor Department. He lives in Fairfield, Conn., with his wife and three children.

The second son, Andrew, graduated from Dartmouth and is personnel manager for the Hunt Manufacturing Company. Lives in Statesville, N. C., and is active in civic and church affairs. They have two daughters.

Edward is a graduate of Dartmouth and lives in Washington. He was in the Navy in the Second World War. After his discharge he attended the Harvard School of Architecture for three years. Is working with the U. S. Air Force, as consulting architect, and is stationed at the Andrews Air Field.

Catherine and Art Chapin spent most of April travelling in the South. Visited Williamsburg and from there went to Augusta, Ga., to visit Art's brother. On the way back they stopped in New Martinsville, W. Va., to see their daughter.

The class will be sorry to hear that we have lost two more members, Finlay Sleeper on March 18 and Joseph Nuelle on April 9.

Ethel and Walter Powers spent part of the winter in London and returned home by the way of Puerto Rico.

At our pre-Harvard class dinner we will no more be presented with a white carnation by Harvey Whittemore He has locked the door to his greenhouse and thrown the key away.
