Coach Tommy Keane's golfers also emerged with a winning record. After returning from the spring vacation trip, the Indians took six out of eight matches to finish the season with a 6-5 mark; and they were ranked ninth in the Eastern Intercollegiates.

Dartmouth's only losses since April were by one-point margins to Army and Springfield, 4-3. Since our last report the Green topped Williams 5-2 and blanked Amherst in the final match 7-0. The entire team appeared to hit top form against the Lord Jeffs. No Green player scored over 76.

Captain Tom Rand of Yazoo City, Miss., had the best individual record with seven wins and one loss. Junior Herb Carlson of New Britain, Conn., who posted a 6-2 season, has been elected captain, of the 1965 team.

The 1964 tennis team had its troubles. Plagued by injuries early in the season, the Indians were able to win only four out of thirteen matches after spring vacation. They were 10-12 overall and 0-9 in the Ivy League.

The Green finished fourth in the New England Intercollegiates and since our last report beat Amherst 7-2 and lost to Williams 7-2 and Cornell 8-1. Tucky Mays, a 22-year-old junior from Greens Farms, Conn., who played in the number one position, compiled an 11-11 record. Mays has been elected captain for the 1965 season and, like John Case in lacrosse, will be following in the footsteps of an alumnus father who played squash and tennis as a member of the Class of 1938.

The track team took the final meet of the season, 85-64, from Springfield, and closed out the year with one win, three losses in dual meets, and one win in a triangular meet. Injuries were common, but also the thinclads did not have the depth or talent to match opponents. The freshman runners finished their season with a 3-3 mark.

The 1964-65 track team will be led by Donald Switzer of Crossett, Ark., a two-year letterman who has excelled in the weight events. During the spring he was a consistent point scorer in the discus and hammer and indoors he competes in the 35-pound weight and shot events.

The rugby team completed a fine season with a 5-2 record and 9-3-1 mark for the entire year. The last match saw the Indians defeated by unbeaten Amherst 8-3. Pete Luitweiler's lone tally gave Dartmouth its only points of the game.

The crew season ended on June 20 with the IRA races at Syracuse. California finished first. The Indians led by the stroking of Hugh Lade were unable to place.
