As these notes are being written, our president Allen E. Newton is in the Winthrop Community Hospital, awaiting an operation. When you read this, he will be recovering at his home 258 Court Road, Winthrop 02152. He edited the last Diddings from his hospital room with the assistance of daughter Eleanor and son Ted.

Harold S. Clark represented Dartmouth College and President Dickey at the inauguration of Dr. A. Sanford Limouze as the first president of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay, Mass., on September 18, 1965. This 74-year-old institution is being up-graded to a four-year college under the direction of the Board of Trustees of Massachusetts State Colleges.

How many of you remembered, when you saw the account of USS Savannah (atomic powered) sailing on its first commercial voyage that H. Wilbur Graves' son, Harvey Jr. '50, was one of the two engineers who completed the reactor for the submarine "Nautilus" and then was selected to supervise the installation of 13 reactors on the "Forrestal"?

George W. Oliphant is now addressed at the Hyde Park Hotel, 25 East 77th St., New York City 10021, just a short distance from Russell Cowles who is at 135 East 71 Street.

Kenneth E. Root is spending a few months in Ye Olde Calif. - Santa Monica, Del Monte, Pebble Beach, etc. His home port is 215 E. Chestnut St., Chicago 60611.

George R. Adams and Marian report that they are doing OK. We are all glad to know that.

Henry E. Meleney was in New Orleans on his old stamping grounds a couple of weeks before "Betsey" laid it low. His home in Gainesville, Fla., only got a good soaking.

Mrs. Sidney H. Thompson has a new address. It is 4444 East Broadway, Tucson, Ariz. 85711.

Chester and Martha Brett made the Hanover Inn their headquarters for a couple of weeks in October while touring the White Mountains and took in the Penn game.

Congratulations to William T. and Frances M. Atwood on their 40th wedding anniversary on November 14.

Birthday greetings this month go to John F. Glynn Jr. (4), Frank S. Austin (6), Albert W. Bates (7), Herbert M. Walker (7), James Hitchcock (12), Ernest C. Whitney (17), Asher A. Clement (27). Chester S. Brett and H. Wilbur Graves joined '09's group of octogenarians in October.
