It was certainly a pleasant surprise to receive a note from Lany Brisbin some time ago as I am afraid I had missed some record achievements of my old roommate. Lany is still busily occupied between his Royal Crown Bottling Co. and tennis. Lany is to be congratulated for winning the West Virginia State singles tennis championship last year after coming close several times and therefore becomes our first state champ at anything as far as I know. His friend, Bill Campbell, won the U.S. Amateur Golf Championship so it must have been the year for West Virginia. Lany reported Dick andNorma Weaver were spending the month in Puerto Rico where they had rented a house.

Bob and Verle Stewart recently moved from Cardiff, Calif., to San Diego. Bob has been with Richfield Oil Co. in California for many years. Their son, Bob, is now eighteen and Brian is eleven.

A friend of Paul Richrath's was nice enough to drop me a note telling me about the sad loss Paul suffered on January 2 when his very expensive, newly decorated home with a magnificent hillside view in Hollywood Hills, Calif., burned to the ground. Paul unfortunately lost many of his highly treasured Dartmouth possessions. Luckily no one was injured and even though he doesn't have his physical remembrances we hope that we can keep him cognizant of his classmates and current activities at the college so that his thoughts of the college do not diminish.

Local Democratic fortunes are on the ascendency in Pelham Manor, N. Y., where Jim Nicholson was elected chairman of the Pelham Manor Democratic Committee. Jim is a lawyer and assistant secretary of Corn Products Refining Co. Jim and Peggy have three children.

Maurice and Marguerite Murphy moved to a house in Little Rock, Ark., where they have lived about a year. Maurice is a civil engineer with the McNutt-Schneller Co. Their son Robert is now fifteen.

After waiting about a year for their new house to be completed Ed and MargaretAnne Leede at last were in their beautiful new home for Christmas. From what Ed told me about the house I'm sure the boys will have plenty of room for all their activities.

For many years while being transferred around the world by the Army, Major KenHall called Los Angeles home. Ken, Mary and their two sons and three daughters now call Fort Benning, Ga., their home.

Another Army classmate, Capt. GeorgeFifield is now living in Princeton Junction, N. J.

It has been a long time since I've heard from Riley Franklin in St. Louis but as a senior engineer with McDonnell Aircraft I imagine he has been plenty busy keeping up with orders on their Phantom plane and working on some of the advanced space projects the company has on the drawing boards. He and Geraldine have a daughter and son and live in a suburb very near the company offices.

Last time I saw Al and Lois Battison was reunion and as far as I know Al is still working as an IBM engineer in product development at the Endicott plant. They live in Vestal. Their three daughters are young ladies. Judy, now thirteen, Janice eight, and Joan six.

I hope those of you living in the West have had better skiing than we have had. We are hoping for some better cover in the weeks ahead as we have a trip to Stowe planned in a couple of weeks. I will report to you how things look in the North Country next issue. See you then.
