As the writer is sitting here surrounded by heaps of snow at long last, it seems that it is a little ridiculous that in six days we will be off for a three-week ski vacation in Switzerland and Austria. The vacation, however, is not from this job which really is not too bad even though almost every card returned has either a new baby, new job, or new address to be recorded, but from the securities business which really occupies a bit more of my time than class secretary. More about my trip next month after I return. Now let's get going on keeping all of you up-to-date on the news, so I can have this in before I leave.
Congratulations to Class Chairman Bobo Russell on just having been elected Vice President of the Saugerties National Bank and Trust Co. Bobo also is Vice President and Treasurer of the F. L. Russell Corp. and as the company recently moved into a new plant in Mount Vernon, N. Y., it certainly is a wonder that he has any time to get out those terrific newsletters.
The Munson twins certainly are still keeping that same continuity in their lives. A couple of months ago I believe I gave you a report on Bud who lives near Boston. Bob is working for the same management consultants firm (Harbridge House) as his brother, but is attached to the Washington, D. C., office and living in nearby Alexandria. Bob and Joan have three children, Stuart four and twin sons, James and Chris, now two. Bud has four with one set of twins.
It was nice of Bob Neuburg to return his card from South America telling of his activities. Bob is the import manager for the import firm of Cia Wilbur Ellis Peruana in Lima, Peru. He and Gladys have one son Edward, almost four. If Bob makes it for reunion it appears he will win the prize for having come the farthest.
Things are going very well for Dud andAnn Wright out in sunny California. They live in Santa Ana, near Los Angeles, and Dud has his own law office in the same town. They have four daughters, Margery Ann, the oldest now almost fourteen, and a son Dudley Jr. who is twelve.
The microwave field is growing at a very rapid rate these days. Right in the thick of things is Tom Matthews who is sales manager for the firm of Microtech, Inc. in Cheshire, Conn. Tom and Biddy live in lovely Bethlehem, Conn. Tom Jr. is now eleven and Jane is almost ten.
I'm sure all the children in Woodbury, N. Y., keep on the good side of HowieCook. Howard is a partner in the candy brokerage firm of McGarry and Cook in Rutherford, N. J. Elaine and Howie's children are Howard eleven, Curtis eight, and Mike six.
Any of you having too fast a draw down there in Texas can obtain the legal services of Huck Newberry associated with the very fine firm of Stone, Parker, Snakard, Fried- man and Brown in Fort Worth. Huck's mind has not been entirely occupied with the law, however, as he and Isabelle keep busy also with Ruth six, Beth four and a half, and O.P. III, now three and a half.
Tom and Barbara Donnelly report from Doylestown, Pa., that Charles is now a year and a half. Tom has been a special agent for the Northwestern Mutual Life Ins. Co. for three years in Doylestown.
We also find Steve and Barbara Morrill living in the suburbs of Philadelphia, but Steve commutes into town where he is office manager for the Pennsylvania Tidewater Dock Co. This company handles the unloading of much of the foreign iron ore coming into our country for processing. The Morrills' three children are Mark fourteen, Bob twelve and Jill almost eleven.
Don Funk has several enterprises going in his home town of Gridley, Calif. Don is an owner of the Funk Bros. Market, a superette market. He also is active at the Funk Brothers Ranch where they raise quality Hereford cattle. I guess Donna has no trouble getting choice steaks for Don Jr., nearly ten, Deb-, bie eight and Dianne seven.
Living in nearby Hamden and working for General Electric in New Haven has not changed the attitude of Jim Mattoon one bit. No one, in the Bowl, was cheering harder for the victorious Green team last fall than Jim and Nancy. In a couple of years Jamie and Rickie will he there yelling also.
I'm surprised I haven't run into WaltKliebe. Walt left the bank and is now with one of my fellow investment banking firms, Lehman Brothers, right around the corner from my office. Walt and Geraldine and Paul, seven, live in Queens.
After this trip maybe next I'll take JohnnyMcFalis up on his invitation to visit Seattle's Space-Age World's Fair opening April 21, 1962. Sounds great for the kids as the Fair is dedicated to stimulating youth's interest in science, so maybe all of you would like to try it also. John is working for the Seattle office of my friends, the Darlingtons, in the brokerage firm of Hill, Darlington and Grimm. He. and Cynthia had their third daughter, Diane, last May, and consequently Cynthia is keeping in very close touch with Wellesley. Donna and Debbie are eight and four while Dean is now almost seven.
Well, Barbara and I will be off for the Swiss Alps very shortly, so I'd better get this up to Hanover. Next month more of the mundane and your up-to-date report on European skiing from your roving correspondent.
