Having just listened to the radio broadcast of the Dartmouth-Yale game, more enthusiasm than usual is likely to dribble from my pen in this edition. Blackman, Chasey, Short, Bowden, and company certainly have been exciting and entertaining this fall, and hopefully by the time you read this an unblemished slate will be a fait accompli. In addition to winning football the Princeton, Harvard, and Yale games have been rallying points for '65's, and thus this month's news.

WARV in Warwick, R. I., doesn't yet carry the Big Green games, but Fred Hill, the vice-president in charge of programming there, is working on it. Fred is with Sconnix Radio Enterprises and was involved with WCVR in Randolph, Vt., until he moved southeast in September.

As Fred was heading out of the Green Mountain state Dr. Dave Pearsall and his bride were moving in—to Ludlow to be exact. Dave is a G.P. and works through the Black River Health Center in Cavendish, about 30 miles southwest of Hanover.

A rumor rampant at the Harvard game was that cupid has about run down WhiteyMays. The lady fair and the magic date are still mysteries, however it is all but confirmed that the gala reception will be at Boston's plush Manhole.

The Pearl Mesta of Hartford, Conn., Wah Walsh, threw a post-Yale extravaganza with a modest guest list of one hundred. When he recovers from that bash Wah is scheduled to lecture to the Engineering Science 21 course at Dartmouth. The fall project for those engineering students is designing systems that can be used to build more comfortable and attractive homes at lower cost in the volume necessary to meet the acute housing shortage in this country. Wah, an executive with the American City Corp., will be one of seven professionals who will address the young engineers during the first term.

Ray Meyer has recently been appointed a foreign service officer by the Department of State. Ray is a Boston University Law graduate (1968), and had served a year as a legislative draftsman for the New Hampshire General Court. He is one of ten Dartmouth graduates who were appointed to the foreign service during the fiscal year 1969-70. Dartmouth topped the list of appointments for that year.

Spotted at the chicken barbeque just outside the gates of Memorial Field on the Princeton weekend was Palmer C. D. Woogrlin. Our witness, who prefers to remain anonymous, said that Palmer was dressed in black tights, a DDA jacket, and a codpiece, and was muttering something about Edith's relocation.

Lafayette College has acquired the services of George Linkletter as an instructor in geology. Link received an M.A. in geology from Dartmouth in 1967, and spent the ensuing three years as a research and teaching assistant at the University or Washington. He is currently a candidate for a Ph.D. from Washington.

Dan Corbett, who had virtually disappeared from sight since we each chose our separate paths in June of 1965, has recently resurfaced as a groom. In late summer he married Miss Carmen Rivard in her hometown of Lewiston, Me. They're now living in San Francisco where Dan is a first year law student. He had been with the U. S. Coast Guard and then the Navy.

Another wedding involved John Mearns and Miss Sally Jane Hutchcroft of South Pasadena, Calif. John is with the Bendix Field Engineering Corp. and works at the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena. Sally is a teacher in Pasadena.

Tony Garland and Miss Orasa Metmowlee were married in a third summer wedding. Orasa is finishing up at Colby J. C. and Tony is studying at Dartmouth Med. Their home is in Hanover.

Jim Carey has joined the firm of Kendel and Anderson of Los Angeles as an associate. He received his law degree from Yale last June.

Northwestern is Gregg Hannah's home for the next couple of years as he goes to work on an MBA. He had been with Chesborough-Pond in New York.

Chuck Lobitz is sampling West Coast schooling. Last year he was a graduate student in counseling psychology at Stanford. This year's campus is the University of Oregon where he is doing further study in psych.

I must close quickly in order to meet my Hanover deadline. If you haven't already done it, please send your class dues to Roger Rines—they will enable the Class to do more for itself and for the College.

Keep the faith!
