In accordance with ancient custom, the annual fall picnic took place at the home of Tom Curtis '32, on Sunday, September 4. The weather was fine, and there was a splendid attendance of alumni, undergraduates, families, and children. Brig Buettner '63 was in charge of the arrangements and did an excellent job.

The principal forthcoming activities include the annual gathering with the Cornell Club for the Dartmouth-Cornell football game on November 12, and the Christmas luncheon during the Holidays. The monthly luncheons have been discontinued, but we expect to have occasional evening smokers. The committee for recruiting candidates for next year's freshman class, again headed by Gene Gabienelli '53, will be searching, screening, and persuading with the usual fervor and zest, and we should have many excellent prospects for next year.

In the meantime, the downtown contingent continues to meet informally at noon on Thursdays at the Terrace Lounge at the Statler-Gateway Hotel. These are most pleasant and worthwhile occasions. Those of us who attend insist that this is the very best way to spend Thursday noon. The more, the merrier; so plan to attend if you are in the neighborhood.
