The fields of goldenrod and Queen Anne's lace proclaim the summer hiatus for class notes is over, so it's buckle up and back to work.

The Class Officers' Meeting in Hanover was well attended by your officers. This was a very delightful gathering and an instructive session. Probably '04 fielded the largest gathering of officers than at any other session. This was also true of the entire body. The largest number ever in attendance. Assistent Secretary of the College, David Orr has furnished you a very complete account of the conference. "Thanks, Dave!"

"Due to the summer interlude for class notes, your secretary has not had an opportunity to express the deep sense of loss to himself and the class in the deaths of two of our sterling members, Charles I. Lampee and Thomas W. Streeter, who gave unstintingly of their time and talents for the benefit of the class and the college. They are greatly missed."

It is hard to realize that, in a little more than one year, our entire corps of officers who served their class so faithfully and efficiently for so long a time have passed on.

Vilda Whittemore writes of the beautiful floral display in Washington. Vilda has been struggling through the complete overhaul of the apartment in which she lives and now enjoys its comfort.

Dr. David and Mildred Ford write that they are enjoying their area and wish that everyone in the class were in as good health as they are at the moment. As to a rendevous in Hanover they write, "Travel is out of the question for us any more. Our hearts go with you and our thoughts will be there." Thank you Dave and Mildred!

We are sorry to report that Ralph Sexton suffered a severe shock some weeks ago. Ralph is now in a comfortable condition in a nursing home.

Anna Uniac writes that she gets much enjoyment from her flower garden and is not going far from home these days. "You may be sure I will be with you in spirit. Give my best to the boys and girls!"

Marion Lampee, exhausted from the long and loving care of Charles during his extended illness, died unexpectedly in her sleep. Our sympathy is extended to her family.

Lucetta, widow of Harry Chase, died recently in Abington, Pa. Our sympathy is extended to her remaining family.

The Websters attended U.V.M. Commencement and Omnibus Dinner in Burlington May 22-23; Geneva's Sixty-Second reunion. U.V.M. with its 5,000 students is expanding rapidly and has a good Medical College.

Matt Bullock was well received in the South this winter. He found integration progressing and was able to dine in many good restaurants. Upon his return to Boston, Matt was appointed Zoning Commissioner for business in the area of Boston by Mayor Collins.

So far as reported, Cloyd "Ike" Maynard appears to be our champion class traveler. Space does not permit full publication of his splendid letter.

Ike left Daytona Beach July 9 and returned August 9 having traveled 11,000 miles on the N.W. Tour mostly by Railways bus, and sightseeing on the Gray Lines buses in many of the N.W. cities and parks and by ferry boats of several hours duration on Puget Sound. Ike reports a wonderful trip and good health all the way. A year ago he covered the Southwest and California in similar fashion. This man knows his U.S.A. His son, Ralph, who lives in South

America, is urging him to visit that area but Ike, at 84, hesitates. Wouldn't you?

So long!

Word has just been received from Roscoe Smith of Oroville, Wash., of the death of his wife, Margaret. The Class extends their heart-felt sympathy to Roscoe and his children.

It's lobsters in Maine for the Websters next week and we hope a good visit with Charlie and Anna Tubbs and other classmates along the way.

Nat Leverone '06 walks the bases withsome of the 40 blind children who werehis guests at a White Sox-Tigers game.He provided each child with a transistor radio to follow the play-by-play.
