As this is being written, snow is falling on the Hanover plain and exuberant ski enthusiasts are busy waxing their skis in preparation for a Saturday afternoon on the slopes. That should produce a bit of nostalgia in some of you so - Come on UP in Northeast - not DOWN as the Northeast TV ad goes.

Gradually we are approaching the end of the 1966 fall admissions work with well over 700 applications for 48 spots already in. Interviews have been underway since October and some 250 students have visited us at our invitation. A complete report will be forthcoming in a later issue.

Incidental Intelligence - Once again the California Christmas mail assured me that my former colleague, Bernie Cunningham M'34, is still among those present, but that was all! .. . Dick Lawton M'43 was recently named manager of the Bioastronautics Section working on the Air Force's Manned Orbiting Laboratory program. Dick is considered an authority on the physiological effects of prolonged weightlessness.. . . Charlie Schofield M'48 has entered the political arena in Keene, N. H., as a candidate for a spot on the Police Commission. .. . Among the newcomers to the banking world is Warren Franz M'sl, recently elected to the board of incorporators of the Sugar River Savings Bank in Newport, N. H. .. . The Warren Thamarus M'52 family notes with pride Warren's appointment as Head of Pediatrics at Midlands Hospital in Michigan. .. . Christmas greetings from the BruceLaFollette M'ss family from Germany reached us just a few hours before Bruce walked in, on his way to be Chief of Orthopedics at Womack Army Hospital at Fort Bragg, N. C.

Waiter and Barbara Vom Lehn M'ss reported from Narrows, Va., that Maria had arrived to join their three boys.... Ken and Sally Herrmann M's7 are already planning for their trip to Hanover next June. . . . ErvPhillips M'58 finishes his residency at Peter Bent Brigham in June and expects to join the Boston University radiology section of Boston City Hospital.... After six months of neurology in London, Floyd and GloriaRobinson M's9 are back in Houston, Texas for one and a half more years of neurosurgery at Baylor... . Tom and Judy Aaberg M's9 finish their ophthalmology residency at Massachusetts Eye and Ear this January and head, with their two youngsters, for two years of Public Health Service in Oklahoma City. ... From Lackland AFB in Texas, the BobYoung M'60 family reports completion of a medical residency and prospects of another year in that big state in an endocrinology fellowship... . Maryann and Barry Smith M'60 enjoyed the famous D-P game with Harriet and Don Abel M'6o. Barry has two years to go as chief resident in New York, but endures it by planning occasional Hanover trips. .. . The Gene Larivieres M'63 added Martin to their Kathy on the writer's birthday. .. . Bill Couser M'63 visited us briefly while on vacation from his internship in San Francisco.... Dick Garibaldi M'65, now back in Boston, misses the country atmosphere.. . .
