JUNE 1966 EDWARD TUCK II, NORMAN E. MCCULLOCH JR.

We'll open the season's finale with a big piece of news from the insurance industry, which is the announcement that Frank L.Harrington Jr. has been elected to the presidencies of The Paul Revere Life Insurance Company and The Massachusetts Protective Association, Inc. Frank has risen through the ranks to these positions, and also attained the important life insurance designation of CLU in the process.

Frank has been active not only in local Dartmouth affairs but is a leader in Worcester's current financial plans for its downtown redevelopment. He, Sally and their three sons live at 22 Brookshire Road.

Another important headline involves the appointment of Dr. Galen E. Jones as professor of microbiology at the University of New Hampshire, in addition to which he will be the first director of its Estuarine Laboratory. He has been associate professor of biology and a marine researcher at Boston University since 1963, following work at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography in California. Galen is author of the "Review of Marine Biology" section in the 1966 Annual of "Encyclopedia Americana," and has written numerous other articles and abstracts on his specialty. Construction of the Estuarine Laboratory on Adams Point of Great Bay in Durham is underway.

Moving out of the bay, down the Piscataqua River past Portsmouth to the Atlantic and thence down the coast a few lighthouses, one finds the quaint and scenic "North Shore" town of Rockport, Mass., where Matt Cooney's residence is 4 Wallace Road. Matt holds the chair of associate professor of English at Salem State College, where he has been since 1958. Salem State is an institution from which cometh many of Massachusetts' best teachers.

Halfway around the world (more or less) in another famous coastal community, Connie Bohuslav gave up that tongue-twisting Uluhala Street address and has taken the new and simpler one of 957 Lunahelu Street in Kailua (Oahu), Hawaii 96734.

On the west coast we have address changes for King Kenny, who now is receiving his mail at the Newhall Refining Co., Inc., Box 983, Newhall, Calif. 91321, while Dr. JohnTalley has the new San Francisco 94115 address of 3009 Clay Street. We recently reported Cdr. Bob O'Neil's official NAS Miramar address; home for Bob is 8519 Sugarman, La Jolla, Calif. 92037.

By the time this issue reaches its destinations, many of us will be thinking of heading for the beaches, but at this writing there still is some good skiing in the northeast, which reminds us that Tor Arneberg was the individual winner in Rochester, N. Y.'s annual slalom race in February. Tor is back in the east with Xerox, but seems to have picked out a California type street name 29 Sandpiper Lane, Pittsford, N. Y. 14534 is the new Arneberg residence.

Major Frank Lion's New York address has changed from an APO number to the Army Recruiting Station, Syracuse, N. Y. 13200. And in that eastern New York town So well known to Dartmouth people, Saratoga Spring, Paul Rouillard has joined the of the Adirondack Trust Company as assistant vice president; his residential address of 204 East Avenue m that community still prevails.

Tn Connecticut, H. C. "Jim" Bristoll Jr. has been appointed to the new post of has manager, government sales for the Stanley Works. Jim, who has been with the company for ten years, is also president of the Dartmouth Club of Central Connecticut, and fills the same post in the Lincoln School PTA. However his headquarters will soon move to 1200 Mt. Vernon Road, Alexandria, va.

'Alex Hoffman's election as vice president of Darien's United Fund drew a front page soot in the local newspaper recently; m business life, Alex is a merchandising manager for Lever Brothers Company in New York Dave Donahue has moved from Massachusetts down Bridgeport way, where 21 Beechcroft Lane, Trumbull, Conn. 06611 is his new abode. ,

Kingsley Jarvis has made a local change in Norristown, Pa., with If? 15 DeKalb Street being the new address. Bernard Hoy also has made a short distance move and now is checked in at 800 Berkeley Road, Wilmington, Del. 19807.

Yours truly will be involved in a Donahue type operation in a few weeks, namely leaving the Bay State in favor of the Nutmeg State, so as of July 6 this scribe's home address will be 19 Claybar Drive, West Hartford, Conn. 06117. I understand that the mailman down there is big and strong, so don't hesitate to send in numerous items for inclusion in this column. The larder of news has never gotten quite as bare as Old Mother Hubbard's cupboard, but our Wellesley Hills postman hasn't been overburdened either. I'd much rather be swamped, as I'll be able to call on several experts to help out if need be. Locally, I could call on Webb Gault, who's behind the by-lines at "The Hartford Courant," where he edits the daily financial pages and writes a "business beat" column. In his spare time, Webb is found as moderator on various public platforms and as a teacher of public speaking. Or should there be a mistake in the quillwork, I could call on the Hartford National Bank and Trust Company's vice president for public relations (as well as marketing and advertising), John Brotherhood. Last but far from least is the proximity to Storrs, where Joe Medlicott is doing a fine job on the "50-50."

Joe made a fine contribution to the cause of the Alumni Fund, as I'm sure you will all agree, when he spoke from the educator s viewpoint on behalf of the 1966 drive in the most recent issue. Friends, we'll be in the final month of this year's Alumni Fund campaign when this reaches you, so if you haven't recognized the cause and acted realistically on it, now is the time. As these words, we're "only number two" in our Green Derby category. Let's make it number one by June 30.
