This, the last of the year, will be a quick one as we are past deadline. Before getting into the news let's have a word or two about the reunion.
By now you have received all the pertinent details on the many functions that have been planned. A very large group of you have already sent in your reservations. To those remaining few - there is still time. Aside from the regular events, quite a few special little affairs are being considered. Such as: a duffers' track meet for you old thin clads, a Glee Club sing fest, an art exhibit for those with that creative flair, and a Dragon breakfast. In addition, there will be plenty of time for a round of golf with your old roommate, or a trip out to the Ledges. The list of those planning to attend is impressive (it will probably be the biggest five-year reunion in Dartmouth's history). There isn't room to list the names here, but you'll be sorry if you are not among them. A letter from Dick Aronsohn tells of his
marriage last December to Deborah Selkowitz. Dick is a Deputy Attorney General in Trenton, N. J., and was recently assigned to supervise compliance with New Jersey's newly amended Law Against Discrimination. Don Rosen married Charlene Petnick on March 12. Don is a director at WPIX-TV in New York City.
Our class newsletter editor, Tom Green, who we must admit puts out a most humorous piece of literature, was recently seen attending the opening of comedienne Phyllis Diller's act at L.A.'s famed Cocoanut. Grove. Tom's home town paper, the Lowell, Mass., Daily Sun, played it up big of course, and ran a picture of Tom and a big Hollywood personality. Show biz!
Jake and carol crouthamel had a girl on March 29, That's two for them. John Guy has joined Hunneman and Company Realtors in Boston. He is a former realty specialist, with the U.S. General Services Administration in Washington. John and Virginia are livingin Marblehead, Mass. Bill and Carolyn Hibbs are now living in Carol Stream, Ill., just outside of Chicago. The Hibbes have three little (?) ones and Papa is working in sales for the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company.
We noticed in the trade papers several weeks ago that Gene Kohn was made a vice president of Grey Advertising in New York. Gene has been very active in a campaign currently appearing in national magazines, Sen for the Federal Community Relations Service for Better Commumty Relations in the civil rights area. Also out that way we see that Al Friedman is workmg m his father's law firm and is active in Democratic politics on the North Shore of Long Island Luke Stapelton is working for an insurance company in Hartford and was recently seen in New York City where he was taking a special IBM course.
Several fast ones now and well call it quits. Ken Weg is senior associate editor for Business International Corp. in New York Bill Moorman is an auditor for McDonell Aircraft Corp. in St. Louis. Dr. Tom Travis is on a ship headed for the Far East. TomVan Winkle is basking comfortably in a law firm in Hawaii.
The gossip pile is empty. My sincere thanks to those of you who have written during the last several years. Its been a pleasure corresponding with and writing about the Class. Hope to see most of you on June 17.
