One of the pleasant features of the Christmas season is the receipt of cards from friends. These are always very welcome. To start, I will mention several '05ers who have included a bit of news. First some of our Class widows: Ethel Lillard continues to gain in ability to get about. FlorenceFall states cheerfully that she is "hitting on all four cylinders." Esther Billman writes of the busy life she leads. Space limitations prevent my giving the interesting details of her active life. Jane Lawrence asks me to express her gratitude to our Class for all the kindnesses she has received. Emily Day hopes she may be able to attend one or both of the two reunions in 1969 and '70. AlvaHatch is very happy that her son and grandson have bought a home in Weston, R. I. This is only an hour's drive from Alva's home so that she expects to see much more of them. Once again short space requirements force me to leave out the interesting details of the careers of these two men, related in a newspaper clipping which Alva included. I expect that these longer statements Alva's and Esther's —as well as the details of the two reunions will appear in the 1905 Reporter.

As usual at this time of year, there is news of our classmates moving southward to their regular haunts in Florida. C.C. Hills reached Mount Dora in safety after a pleasant drive. He has already seen Leon Smith andAmy several times. Leon, he reports, is making a good recovery from a cataract operation. C.C.'s address, as before, is Mount Dora, Box 561, Fla. 32757.

The Whites, "Cy" and Hilda, have booked quarters for February at Downtown Sarasota Motel, North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. In March they will be at Clearwater Beach Hotel. In April they go to Evanston to visit their daughter. In a telephone conversation in late December, Roger Brown told me that he and lane were about to fly to Florida to stay for the season. As previously, they will be located in Anna Maria: address: P.O. Box 57, Zip Code 33501. Mildred and I are planning to spend February in Florida. From january 30 to February 13 we shall stay with old friends in Miami, address: c/o Rev. John C. Walker, 3429 Devon Road, Miami, Fla. 33133. Not having been able to secure a reservation at Clearwater Beach, we have settled for Ellinor Village, Ormond Beach, February 13-27. Verney Russell and wife were planning to spend the holidays in Beaverston, Ore., to be with their granddaughters at the latters' warm invitation.

Bob and Edna Falconer are planning to be at both the 1969 and 1970 reunions, sharing in the celebration of the big Bicentennial of our College. We were pleased to learn from Jessie Brooks that Charlie, after his long, painful ordeal, seems at last to be gaining in strength. We hope that the new year will mark Charlie's full recovery. Stanley Besse wishes that he, too, might join us in Florida this winter, but says that it is out of the question. He sends greetings to all the lucky ones.

We are grateful, too, for the greetings from "Elsie" and Marion Grover, Bill and Dorothy Blatner, "Camp" and Clara Campbell, Helen Gilbert, Ethel Conley, Fred Chase, Anne Reid, and all: may the good Lord grant them health and happiness!
