The Pea Green grid squad approached record proportions again this fall, providing head freshman coach John Curtis with the searching task of selecting the best from among much talent. The Little Indians found preparation time short, however, and lost their first game 28-J4 against Holy Cross in Worcester. The Crusaders had the benefit of much added practice time this fall, and gave the Green little chance to redeem youthful mistakes. At Brown, however, the freshmen had things their way as they rolled to a 49-6 victory. QB Jim Chasey threw for two TDs among the busily scoring Little Indians. Middle guard Bob Kelcourse recovered a Bruin fumble in the end zone for an additional six points. The same afternoon the "B" team upset Norwich University in Hanover 20-14.
