The Ledyard Canoe Club collected top honors at the National Canoe Whitewater Slalom Championships, held on the West River in Jamaica, Vt. In the canoe event, senior Wick Walker, Washington, D.C., captured the National Championship medal in a field of 27 boats drawn from throughout the United States and Canada. Running the course in record time, Walker brought home the first National Championship in the 48-year history of the Ledyard Canoe Club. Dwight Campbell '67, former president of the club, captured the Eastern Kayak Slalom title for a precedent-setting two years in succession.
Senior Gene Ryzewicz, well known for his exploits on both the gridiron and diamond, was honored with three College awards during the 90th Annual Wet Down ceremonies over Green Key weekend. He was awarded the Kenneth Archibald Athletic Prize, the Alfred E. Watson Trophy, and the Barrett All-Round Achievement Cup. The Archibald Prize is awarded to that student who is adjudged to have been the best all-round athlete, with consideration being given to high moral worth and a high scholastic standing. The Watson Trophy is awarded to that student, who in the opinion of the coaches of all varsity sports, has been the most outstanding Dartmouth athlete during the year. The Barrett Cup is presented annually to that senior whom the upper three classes choose as giving the greatest promise of becoming a factor in the outside world through his strength of character and qualities of leadership, record of scholarship and broad achievement, and his influence among his fellows.
Indian swimming mentor Karl Michael has been named to the Swimming Games Committee of the United States Collegiate Sports Council. The purpose of the Council is to promote international collegiate sport, primarily through the group's membership in the International University Sports Federation (FISU).
Ed Damon '69, North Conway, N.H., has been selected to captain the 1968-69 varsity ski squad. Damon, a strong fourevent competitor, missed much of this past season with an injury, but has been very impressive in his limited appearances, and in the past.

(also a fine forward on the Pea Green hockey squad); track, Parke Rublee, Orchard Park, N.Y.; heavy crew, stroke Bill Pickard, Bloomsbury, N.J.; light crew, Mike Brophy, Tucson, Ariz.
