It's time right now for you to make plans for that 55th reunion next June. Let's make it a big one! We need a slogan, and your secretary would welcome suggestions ( for example: "Don't wait, sign up for '68. "It's no myth, that 55th, we'll all be there." Some of you can come up with some better ones, I'm sure.

Ed Sides reports he had a stroke five years ago which has left a slight impairment of his left leg but he walks without a cane and does very well. Their daughter, Mrs. Richard Heath, lives in St. Petersburg, Fla., not far from them. Her husband, a major in the Army, has been in Vietnam, but is due back for special communications training. "Cap Avery of Boynton Beach, Fla., since his retirement, has followed a life-time hobby of reading. "Cap" says he cannot keep up with the flood of new books and prefers to reread the old classics. On June 2, Gus and Alice Perry celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary. It was the first time in 17 years that all three of their sons and families were together. Gus continues to serve his town of Brandon, Vt., as town auditor.

Dr. Harry French, who taught anatomy at Dartmouth Medical School for 45 years, is the founding father of a notable medical family. His daughter, Dr. Elizabeth Lathem, is senior member in charge of the laboratory at Mary Hitchcock Hospital. Dr. Arthur French, the eldest son, is Associate Professor of Medicine in charge of medical research at the University of Michigan. He married Dr. Margaret Storrs, a psychiatrist. Second son Roland graduated from Harvard Medical School, was with the Navy in the second world war, assigned to the Marines and was wounded at Iwo Jima. He is now in general practice and does surgery at Eastport, Me. There just can't be many families in the country like that.

"Howie" Ball writes that he is still active in his fuel supply business. According to "Howie," he has given up running the two miles but does a great deal of walking to keep in condition. His first, wife died in 1948. She was a "regular" at reunions and a real Dartmouth fan. He married his second wife, a talented pianist, in Brooklyn and "thirteeners" attending their wedding were Jack Alden, Ray Ball, Clarence Meleny, John Remsen, and wives. Like many of his classmates, Howie reads a great deal and goes to football games at Hanover.

On June 27 Dr. Ray and Marion Schulte were honored at a reception celebrating their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Ray was an organizer and past president of the three medical associations of the county and state of Washington. The class extends congratulations.

Ben Andrews writes that he attended the Holy Cross-Dartmouth game at Hanover and enjoyed seeing the Big Green score a resounding victory. Howie Ball and Bart Shepard helped Ben cheer the team on to victory.

Brig Knight and his wife of Marlboro, N. H., celebrated their golden wedding October 1 with a family dinner at Marlboro Community House after which open house was held at their home. Many friends called to offer congratulations and a toast or two. We add ours too.

Word has been received of the death of our classmate Ralph E. Samuel. He died suddenly while on a vacation to Israel. Our sympathy goes to his wife Florence and the family. Further details will be found in the In Memoriam column of this or a subsequent issue.

Do it Now! Send in your name to the reunion chairman "Big Bill" Towler. He is anxiously awaiting your response. Send in your reunion slogan. You might win a "fifth."
