The Boston Herald, under the date of February 10, 1967, announced the death of Mrs. Jessie Ames Marshall, wife of the late Andrew Marshall. Mrs. Marshall was the granddaughter of Civil War general and former Massachusetts governor Benjamin F. Butler. She died at her home, 96 Rockwood Street, Jamaica Plain, Mass.
Mrs. Marshall was a 1903 graduate of Smith College. She was a founder of the Birth Control Association of Massachusetts, now called The Planned Parenthood League. Several years ago she published the Private and Official Correspondence of General Benjamin F. Butler; and she also edited and published the letters of her parents, Gen. and Mrs. Adelbert Ames, under the title "Chronicles from the 19th Century."
She leaves two sons, Malcolm of Newton, Mass., and Andrew Jr., of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Blanche M. Bruner of Cambridge and Mrs. Jessie M. Williams of Jamaica Plain, Mass.; and a sister Mrs. Oakes Ames of North Easton, Mass.

The Times-Union, of Albany, N. Y., under date of January 30, 1967, announced the death of Charles R. Chase, of Rensselaerville, N. Y., at Kent, Ohio, on January 27, 1967. He came to Hanover from Rochester, N. H., where he was born. Steady and studious, he graduated with his class, and, later received his engineering degree from Thayer, in 1902. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
After graduation he was employed by the New York Central Railroad, in Albany, N. Y., where he acted as supervising engineer on the Barge Canal. Later, he served as a construction engineer on the New York City Subway System; The Washington, D. C., Water System; and at Camp Eustis and Langley Field, Va. During the Second World War, he served with the Defence Corps, in Boston, and Worcester, Mass., and in Providence, R. I.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Golden Chase; one daughter, Nancy M. Chase, of New York City; one son, Richard G. Chase, of Kent, Ohio; a brother, George E. Chase, of Rochester, N. H.; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in Kent, Ohio; interment later, in Rensselaerville, N. Y., cemetery. The Class extends its profound sympathy to his wife in the loss of her husband, and to his children in the loss of a father.
