The Office of Alumni Records has received notice of the death of Charles L.Hildreth, of 25 Boston Road, Westford, Mass., February 7, 1968. He was born in Cambridge, Mass., the son of Charles Willis and Lucy Maria (Colburn) Hildreth. He has been a resident of Westford practically all of his life.

He received his early schooling at Westford Academy, following which he entered Dartmouth and graduated with the Class of 1901. After graduation he enrolled at Harvard, and received his LL.B. Degree. He became a practising attorney in Lowell, Mass., and for many years was associated with Judge Fisher. In 1915, he was elected Town Clerk of his home town, Westford, and served continuously in that capacity for fifty years, when illness forced his retirement.

A 32nd degree Mason, he served as Worshipful Master of William North Lodge, AF & AM, Lowell, during the 1940's. He was a member of the First Parish Church, United, of Westford. He is survived by his wife, the former Alice Ann Battersby, to whom the Class extends its most profound sympathy. Funeral services were held at the Morse Funeral Home, Lowell, Mass.; cremation at Mt. Auburn, Cambridge, Mass. An "In Memoriam" will be printed in this or a later issue of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE.

Frank Cudworth received a letter from Nettie Marsh about her husband, FrancisMarsh; it reads, in part, as follows: "About two weeks ago Frank slipped on the ice by the back door, and fell, hitting his head on the metal top of the garbage bucket, buried below the surface. He punctured an artery and it bled in a regular fountain. I got the doctor and he came and called the hospital (it is only two blocks away). He was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, and was there for three days for treatment; he was very ill and confused. He is now home but not in his usual good health." The Class extends its sympathy to both Nettie and Frank Marsh.
