George Steele, 1913 class president and secretary, died in his sleep at his Wellesley Hills home during the night of April 9-10. George was a Master at The Choate School from 1916 until his retirement in 1956 and for thirty of those years he was Assistant Headmaster. His death occurred only twenty days before the dedication of the school's new administration building, named the George Steele Hall on Alumni Day, April 29. A memorial service for him was held in the school chapel that morning, prior to the dedication.
An In Memoriam article will appear in next month's issue.
