1908 has a new Head Class Agent. Following the death on July 25 of ArthurLewis, our faithful Head Class Agent for 45 years, the class officers were faced with the necessity of providing a successor. Our equally faithful class Secretary, LaurenceM. Symmes, volunteered to take over the duty and was appointed by President Soule, approved by the executive committee and confirmed by the Alumni Fund Secretary of the College.

Class Executive Committee. The new Class Officer's Manual specifies that the executive committee should have eleven or more members, but also has a clause that the number of men on the executive committee should be left to the discretion of each class. Since the present class roll has dropped to 61, the present list of class officers, consisting of Arthur T. Soule, president; Lauris G. Treadway, vice-president; Laurence M. Symmes, secretary and head class agent; Arthur B. Barns, treasurer; Sydney L. Ruggles, news editor, and Warren Currier, bequest chairman; agreed to form an executive committee of the existing class officers and will consti- tute the executive committee of the Class of 1908.

Grandsons of Classmates. In looking over the Commencement program of the Class of 1968 Fred Munkelt found the following grandsons of classmates who were in the class of 1968: George Detlef Detlefson '66, Master of Engineering, grandson of our Jack Detlefson. William Bradford Blanchard, A.B., president Class of 1968, and grandson of our Gordon Blanchard, Gerald Dana Parkinson, A.8., grandson of our Dana Parkinson, and John Dennis O'Shea Jr., A.B., grandson of our Arthur O'Shea. Arthur's wife, Pauline O'Shea, passed away on July 9, 1968, and is buried in Laconia. She was a great friend of your editor.

Paul Batchelder is half blind from hemorrhages in both eyes. He adds, "I have lived already far longer than I ever expected and now find myself close to the end of the road."

Crosby Hoar reports from Arlington, Va. "Our most recent contact with Dartmouth was on March 31, when the Glee Club gave a concert under the auspices of the Dartmouth Club of Washington. For this old grad the climax was the 'Hanover Winter Song.' "

Lauris G. Treadway and his sons have sold their interests in "Treadway Inns Corporation" to a new corporation, "Treadway Inns and Resorts" with headquarters in Rochester, N. Y. Larry will continue to live in Williamstown and his address is unchanged, c/o Treadway Inns Corporation, Williamstown, Mass. 01267.
