Two blessings descended on the JackEverett household in 1970. His wife, Gladys, made a fine recovery from a coronary. Secondly, Jack joined his son and son's wife for a two-week trip to Ireland, including U.K., Armagh and Tyrone counties in Ulster. "Not a sign of trouble there, but over in 'Derry, they were 'having it at each other,' as the Irish say." Jack, did you really mean two weeks or a fortnight?

A Jubilee in honor of Pop Chesley's ninetieth birthday and his 38th season as Concert Manager of the Great Artists Series of the Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute will be presented in Utica on May 18, 1971, featuring Roberta Peters, Jan Peerce, Theodor Uppman. With a special block provided for Pop's non-member friends, what an opportunity for an interim reunion!

Bert Thwing returns from a month's visit with his daughter in California, "sitting in the sun," to find 16 to 18 inches of snow. Lucky boy, Bert. In Montpelier we have 36 to 38, all yours if you want it. It is time for Pop Chesley's reading of "Snowbound."

Virginia Wyman Hazen ('34), daughter of Art Wyman, contributes a Letter to the Editor in the December number of the MAGAZINE, p. 6, deploring the deterioration of cheer leading, as witnessed at the Harvard game. No "Wah-Hoo-Wahs," no "Backs Go Tearing By," no "Glory to Dartmouth," etc. "Bully" to you, Virginia.

A salute to Walter Furman and S. S. Rutherford. Good wishes to you in return.
