Momentum is gaining for the big June reunion. Graham Conklin, Winger Munn,Johnny Shaw, Hnd Wilson, Dan Winters are among those heading key committees to make this the best reunion ever. Chairman Frank Hartmann has passed the word down to get out the vote. Plan now to be there. In my own special survey I find a great response. Dick Proctor told me in Winter Park, Fla., last week that he'll be there. Charlie Edison definitely will make the scene from St. Louis. No excuses accepted from New Englanders.
The widow of Nobu Mitsui has given the College and the Class a generous and thoughtful memorial fund to be made part of the Third Century Fund. Some time ago Mrs. Mitsui sent me a copy of Nobu's autobiography. The first half is a delightful reminiscence of Nobu's youth, early college days, and impressions of America; the other half, printed in Japanese, includes comments on Pearl Harbor Day, his happiness at Dartmouth, and democracy in the confused postwar period of Japan. Nobu possessed an unusual understanding of people and situations expressed simply but incisively. We hope his two sons will attend Dartmouth. His brother Mori '58 has been living in Boulder, Colo., and is moving to the New England area.

Watching Dr. Barnard on TV reminded me that Cy Brown also did graduate work at the University of Minnesota Graduate School of Medicine - perhaps at the same time. Cy was in the Royal Canadian Air Force and the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1941-46 before starting his long medical training. He is a very busy internist in Duluth. Somehow, dedicated people like Dr. Barnard (and Cy Brown) are willing to pay the tremendous price in time and effort that excellence requires.
