Soccer captain for next season will be Peter Linton '70, of Philadelphia. David Warner '69 will lead the cross-country squad. Warner, from Denver, Colo., is a strong middle-distance runner who has shone in both track and cross country since his freshman year at Dartmouth. Linton, a graduate of the William Penn Charter School, led the Indian bocters in scoring this fall and is the first junior to captain a Dartmouth soccer team in the history of the sport at the College.

Coach Al Merrill, busily engaged in preparing the Big Green ski squad for another top season, has been named to coach the upcoming U. S. Olympic Nordic Ski Team. Quite an honor, of course, it is becoming a familiar role to the veteran mentor, who successfully led the U. S. Nordic skiers in 1964. A member of the 1950 U. S. championship ski team (FIS), he also coached the 1954 FIS squad and the 1956 Olympic team. Working with him will be a former outstanding Dartmouth skier, Brian Beattie '67, who received an NCAA graduate scholarship award last spring.
