Big Green linksmen have moved to a creditable 6-6 summary, in spite of the loss of a number of very close contests in sudden-death, 19th hole playoffs. After a fast early season, chance and the weather seemed to frown on the Green. Losses to Williams and Middlebury went down to the wire before being decided, while the Indians claimed impressive wins against Army and Boston College. Big news for the future lies in Coach Bill Johnson's frosh group which boasts both talent and depth. The Pea Green golfers lost only their opening match, to the University of Massachusetts, in nine contests. Victories include 7-0 whitewashes over Amherst, Williams, Middlebury and Champlain, and an impressive 5-2 defeat of the Harvard freshmen. Next year, when these two groups team up, Dartmouth will be very strong on the greens.
