Word has come of the not entirely unexpected passing of Herman de Anguera, on lan. 8, 1968. A more extended notice will be found elsewhere in this or a subsequent issue. If the Duke's death was no surprise, the same cannot be said of the loss of another valued friend, the widow of the late Karl Brackett. Her son-in-law, Doug Pease '28 writes of her death on Dec. 20, 1967, of a coronary, in a Plymouth, Mass., hospital, fortunately, without suffering. It was a privilege to have known the Bracketts.
A happier note comes from HaroldPlumer, who sends a marvelous picture of an eruption of the volcano Kilauea that he watched from a chartered plane, as he flew close above it. There are many advantages in living permanently in Hawaii. He also sent word that Duckie Drake was once more visiting the Islands and that the two of them expected to get together again before the latter returned to his ancestral New Hampshire home.
Herm Farwell has also been wandering, but not as far afield. Not many of us can cover as much ground as Duckie. One of the delights of our 65th reunion last June, getting to know some of the members of Herm's large family. There are still far too many Christmas cards for which I still owe thanks.
