April 1 marks the beginning of this year's Alumni Fund Drive. I hope that each one of you will keep in mind the importance of his contribution to this effort and remember how necessary it is to the life of the College. The drive can only be successful if each one of us shares in its responsibility conscientiously.
Henry Mueller has been appointed military sales manager of Oscar Mayer & Co., a national meat processor. Henry has been with Oscar Mayer since 1957 in several capacities and most recently acted as manager of the company's distribution center in Pittsburgh, Pa. Henry and Nancy have four children and are making their home in Madison, Wise., where the company headquarters are located.
It seems we all have a bit of the budding politician in us and Warren Tharion is no exception. Warren is running for school committee in Middleboro, Mass. He is comptroller of P. M. & E. Electronics, Inc., a Providence, R. I., firm which makes mobile school rooms and audio-visual instructional devices. Warren and Rose have lived in Middleboro for fifteen years and have four children. The three youngest are in the Middleboro schools so Warren's interest is understandable.
Congratulations are in order for JimSchaefer who has been promoted by DickieRaymond, a division of Metromedia's Metromail Group, to vice president and New York Regional Manager. Jim has been with Dickie-Raymond for sixteen years with supervisory responsibilities on many of their national accounts including Pan American World Airways. Jim and Eleanor live in New York City and have a son who will
Tom Crook moved from Ohio to Montclair, N. J., and set up his own firm, CrookHeritage Associates, last fall. Tom had been with Martz and Lundy and his new company will provide long-range consulting services for non-profit organizations which will include fund raising planning. He will have a back up public relations staff and an office in Cleveland so he will be uniquely equipped to serve hospitals, churches and other related institutions. Tom is on the Board of Trustees of the Montclair Academy Foundation and we wish him the best of luck in his new venture. His son, "T.J. Jr." is a bursting" nineteen months which is the perfect description for a youngster that age.
Bruce Crowell is living in West Bridgewater, Mass., and working for T. F. Crowell & Sons, general contractors. Bruce advises that the company does commercial and industrial buildings mainly. He is a deacon of the Southern Congregational Church in Brockton and a director of the Campello Cooperative Bank among other activities. Bruce and Betty Ann have three girls ranging in age from twelve to nineteen.
John Costello has left the lovely North Ireland country to become the manufacturing manager for Ford Motor Company of their Rawsonville operations. John, who was operations manager for Ford in North Ireland, said they will miss the friendly people most of all but expect to be very happy in their new home in Britton, Mich. His daughter, who won the Ulster Novice Show Jump, ing Championship last year, is going back this summer to ride the jumping circuit and John plans to go back in 1971 for the British Open. He and Cettie have five children and he assured me they are looking forward to being in Hanover in 1973.
