Making ready for their southern trip, Coach Whitey Burnham's varsity lacrosse members were more excited than experienced, more spirited than steady, yet they possess the talents to provide many thrilling contests. Spark for a possible improvement over last season's 3-8 record is Captain Bob McCormick. All-Ivy and Ail-American honorable mention as a junior attackman, Bob scored 26 points last year, and had 45 as a sophomore. On defense, junior Jeff Norton seems set for a topnotch season, with senior Bob Tharinger protecting the goal. Three seniors, Bill Rich, Wells Chandler and Dave Reichgott, should provide a needed steadying influence for a team which lists only nine lettermen. Several sophomores from an occasionally brilliant frosh team last spring have the potential to become key performers. Much of the team's success hinges on McCormick's scoring success, and a chance for the team to work together outdoors over vacation.
