This was a tough weekend to try to write this column, with the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships televised from Dartmouth and a Dartmouth team on College Bowl. These programs did serve to underline a thought in a recent letter from Bob Boye, our Assistant Head Class Agent. "Dartmouth is a growing, vital, everchangmg, private institution of higher education. Dartmouth serves our entire society." As its influence increases and its facilities grow, so shouid our support.

Hank Greer has moved to 1225 19th St., N.W., Washington, D. C. He is a Branch Manager for 1.8.M. in that area. The Greers are living in Fairfax, Va. Milton Singleton is also in the office equipment field. When last heard from he was in the service, but now he is working for Addressograph-Multigraph Corporation out of Albuquerque, N. Mex.

Dr. Thomas Ashby reported, along with a dues payment, to Brilce Clark, that he is now a third-year resident in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic. Tom and his wife, Nancy, had their first child, Lynn Marie, on December 5, 1967. He expects to enter the Public Health Service this July at their Communicable Disease Center.

John Wheaton, who always appeared to have everything under control in Hanover, indicated a little uneasiness in his note. He is attending Stanford Business School. With finals staring him in the face, he said that it was a long time since he'd taken one.

Our Michigan representation is really part of the jet set. Tom Troyer is a pilot for General Motors. Tom resigned from the Air Force in 1967 to settle down in Ann Arbor with his wife and two children. Larry Gazley has three children and is still living in Birmingham, Mich. However, he is not letting that slow him down. He reports that he is "pleasing the Mrs. by leaving tomorrow for two stag weeks in Sunny California." How about some details on how you pulled that one, Larry?

We received some news from several of our M.D.'s. Owen Dow is a third-year surgical resident at the Maine Medical Center in Portland. He, Judy and their two children are living in South Portland. Bob Reid announced the arrival of their first child, a daughter, last November. Bob and Jill are living in Chicago, where he is taking his residency.

Chuck Collins seems delighted to be taking a break from his residency. He, Joan and their two children are stationed at McChord Air Force Base, Wash., where he is the flight surgeon for the 62nd Military Airlift Wing. When he completes his hitch he will be back to a Surgical Residency at U.C.L.A.

There is no question about how Dr. JohnPeterson is enjoying Rio. He and his wife are down there on a government assignment. He reports that "Rio is a beautiful city in every respect including the girls that fill its beaches."

Phyllis Leavitt let me know that she and Jim are now in Long Branch, N. J. After one year of duty with the Army in Saigon, Jim is attending the Signal Officers Advanced Course at U.S. Army Signal School at Fort Monmouth. They have three children.

Dave Vaules and Ed Daumit both increased the potential for the Class of 1990. The Vaules had their third child, William, on November 6, and Catherine Daumit brought young Paul home on November 28. The Vaules live in Rochester, N. Y., and the Daumits live in Chesterfield, Mo. Right in line is William C. Gould Jr., born April 7, 1967 to Bill Gould and his wife. Bill is presently a systems analyst for Honeywell E.D.P. involved in software planning.

After our long cold winter, Rick Roesch really knows how to rub it in. He is moving from Tokyo to Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China. However, before he settled into his new job for the First National City Bank, they made a trip to Australia, New Zealand, and the South Sea Islands.

I guess this column would not be complete without a couple of engagement announcements via the Hanover news service. A May wedding is planned for Judith Benjamin and Stephen Singer. Judith is completing her master's degree in art history while on the staff at the Guggenheim Museum. Steve is with the New York law firm, Coudert Brothers. Luke Stapleton is also making the big step. He is engaged to Barbara Ellen Thayer. Luke is serving as specialist fifth class in the 340 th General Hospital Unit of the U.S. Army Reserve.

Here in New Jersey, Al Stark has been making news. He was recently named assistant to the Mercer County Prosecutor. Al is associated with his father and uncle in the Trenton law firm of Stark and Stark. Meanwhile behind the scenes, another attorney, Lyn Carlin, was breaking into show business. Lyn was in charge of sets for the Basking Ridge, N. J., Community Music Theatre's presentation of "My Fair Lady."

Reed Browning is also receiving some justifiable plaudits for his work in the Arts. He has received a grant from the National Foundation on the Arts and Humanities to do research this summer at the library of Yale University. Reed, who is an assistant professor of history at Kenyon College, will work with the papers of the Duke of Newcastle in preparation to writing a biography combining historical and psychological methods. Since he received his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Yale, Reed should know his way around their library.
